Fredericksburg VA Camp Fly-In (KEZF)

Looks like we will be flying in Saturday morning and staying the night. Faxing my registration in today, I didn't see any arrival procedure on this either.

Why don't we bring the new BAC tent and show them how the Beech Aero Club rolls (or Flys * weather permitting ) I am in .

Just talked to Patty (she's ramrodding this event) to see if she could work it out were we could get a reserved area to park everyone together, she's looking into it. Also asked about our club tent, she said there is still room in the vender area (the parking lot) if we wanted, but should have room to set up around the planes.

She said there is no arrival procedure and the runway will be closed from 8am to 9am on Saturday morning for the Fun Run (I'm hopping to be in there before that).

Alan have you done this before? Any tips?

I see no camping rules on this, what's the norm? Can I bring a cabin tent? Can I bring a stove/grill? Can I bring the kitchen sink?

Never done the fly in and camp thing.

Wish I could make it, but a little too many miles for me this time around. Good luck with the weather, and be aware of the soft moist grass areas and those wheels.

I've not done it here but I've done it at other Fly-In Camp-Outs. I bring the kitchen sink! EZ-Up tent, Portable Grill, table, chairs, tent!

The kids, full fuel, 200 lbs in the back and me, 2,450 gross. Alan I wont be able to fit my corn hole boards though(with the kids), might be able to fit the sink.

Here we go again, 80% chance of rain and thunders storms predicted in the area for this weekend for home and Fredericksburg. Hopefully they are wrong, my kids will be some kind a disappointed.

UVA and ECU (My son goes to UVA and I have season football tickets and my wife graduated from ECU while I did my residency there) are playing in the NCAA Baseball Regionals at UVA this weekend. I know I'm going to the game Friday night so Friday night's out. I might still make it Saturday (depending on weather!)

Alright guys this is going to be a no go for me due to weather. This will also be the last event that I publicly announce that I'm going to attend, being I'm a jinx. I might even remove my name from the BAC Fest list so we don't get rained out.:)

Great! Maybe this will transfer the curse from Steve Cote and we Nor'Easters can finally get an event in.
;-)

Glenn

I've had better luck putting events together with just one or two days notice. Big high pressure arrives, time for a BAC fly out.

Cheers,

Glenn, James, I'm use to it. 9 out 10 times that I take a camping or hiking trip it will rain. I spent 5 days camping and hiking in the Smokies and swear it started raining as soon as my boots hit the trail and didn't stopped until my boots hit the floor mats in my truck when we left.
