Thoughts with Gary and Mary from this side of the pond. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for them both with their concerns shifting to repair/ replace of the Deb (thus indicating a return to health and the air environment). Tested in a way we all hope to avoid. Respect.
Here are some links to early reports. Having been in a plane crash myself, I can see that the reports don't completely match and that there are some things that just cannot be true. Judging from the pictures, Gary did a heck of a job landing the plane with the assumption he had just taken off and had an engine failure. It almost looks like the nose of the plane hit a large tree and the aircraft bounced backwards. He and Mary will continue to be in our prayers.
Gary's post this morning was probably the best post I ever read on our forums. Friday morning was very unnerving for everyone in our club . We all wish Gary and Mary a speedy recovery. We had 28 of us attend the Beechcraft Heritage Museum fly in and strategy session. The executive board conducted a 4 hour question and answer session with all in attendance to determine ways to make our club better and tune up what we have. The recommendations will be discussed at the next board meeting. Here are some pictures.
