Join the Smithsonian Institution Udvar-Hazy Center Become a Pilot Day! June 20, 2009.
This is one of the biggest public events of the year for the National Air & Space Museum. The location is Adjacent to Dulles Airport KIAD, easy to fly or drive in. But you will not be able to taxi to the Museum.
For the past few years this event is created to remind the museum going public that all types of Aviation are still going on in the USA. After a safety briefing guests come out the the ramp to meet pilots of all types. Since its inception BAC has been represented by Paul Werbin and his 1981 Sierra as an example of affordable general aviation.
We can call this a BAC fly in, and take turns showing the plane. There is food available as well as private tours of the Museum for those helping out.

This is a great fun way to promote General Aviation. But there is no room for more planes at the Museum itself. Come help at my plane and talk about your own flying!
I think this will qualify as a BAC fly in.

Due to the horrible weather many of the display planes did not make it to The Udvar-Hazy Center of the NASM this Saturday. But BAC survived the storm dodging and N3864Y arrived on time and in place. The official visitor count was low this year at 14,800, probably also weather related. Many guests stopped by and reminisced about their flight training in Mice. And dozens of children were able to sit in the cockpit of my Sierra as well as some of the other planes.

Did you all notice the desktop model of a Musketeer on a stand in the display case on the first floor? I have seen it when I have visited there.
The Mooney Mite Club is another active owners group with a great website. They wil point out there is a Mite hanging from the ceiling on the second floor. Their site is http://www.mooneymite.com
Websites are a great way of maintaining and raising the value of aircraft. Thx to all those involved in this one. One for all.
