Flight Levels
We are less than a week away. Please post your intended arrival time:

Brad & Ann Mitchell plan to arrive Tuesday, Oct. 13 around noon.

I think I should make it on Wednesday between noon and sundown....... if the wind gods are nice.

Paula, Skye, and I will probably arrive at our rented cabin in mid-afternoon on Wednesday, and will shoot for the dinner with the group. I'm expecting to have to drive, for the first time, to our fifth BAC Fest (counting Dayton).

To think that Sunny Beech could make it to the 48 states plus southern Canada from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, and to our first annual BAC meeting (2005 in Dayton, through snow), but now I can't get him to Gatlinburg, just over the hills. Depressing indeed.

I will be arriving Tuesday late afternoon after picking up Mark Weiss from Australia. No, I am not flying down under to pick him up. He is flying to the States. Brief stop in Kentucky to introduce him to Marker's Mark then on to Gatlinburg.

See everyone next week!

We are planning to fly to Tullahoma on Wednesday and meet the group there, going on to GKT with them on Thursday.

Anyone else planning on this before we start making reservations in Tullahoma?

Thanks for all the posts. Both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are optional, casual and individual checks. Hopefully we won't have to endure another "check splitting ordeal" like last year. :D

Tuesday night we'll just wing it for a place to eat, but Wednesday night, I thought we'd walk up to Damon's Restaurant, which is right behind Oak Tree.

Damon's has been annointed "The Official Caterer of BACFest 2009", so you'll get a sampling of their food. If you like ribs and barbecue, you are going to like Damon's. If not, their menu has an ample variety of selections. You won't leave hungry......or thirsty!

Minnie and I won't make it.

Mechanic won't sign off annual without spinner and bulkhead installed.

Spinner is in Atlanta for repair. ASEI can't repair bulkhead but I found a new/surplus one. Won't have all the parts until late next week.

GEEE, you have a view of the Pacific Ocean while they are splitting the check and it gets referred to as an ordeal!!! I thought the whole thing was a clever way to get around sitting downstairs, lesser view and having your entree pre ordained as well as cooked.

By the way, I will suffer the ordeal again for barbecue....can't wait.

I'm planning to depart Springfield, VT (KVSF) first thing Thursday morning the 15th. If the winds aren't too bad I expect to arrive around sunset. If the winds don't cooperate it may be Friday before I arrive.

Larry,
We're leaving Monday AM from Westfield. I'll leave a trail of bread crumbs for you. 8)

No question that the setting, the view of the Pacific Ocean and the food were superb. And for those seated at the smaller tables, there were no issues. But for the 20+ of us at the grown-ups table, when they presented me with a single bill and a calculator, and told me, "If you want it split up, go ahead!" Then it became an ordeal. :D

After responding that, "If you want this bill paid, you better get our waiter back out here", after 30 minutes of head scratching he finally figured it out. Too bad we didn't think about sitting in the bar while he worked it out. That would have soothed the bad memories.
