BACFest 2015 Hotel/Schedule

We have two options available for rental car service on Saturday: Avis and Enterprise. Both are open till noon on Saturday. Avis is located directly inside the airline terminal. Enterprise is located off site, but does offer airport drop for a charge. We will be able to coordinate a ride to one of these terminals Saturday morning if you need to go this route. There are also several cab companies in town. I can testify to several pleasant 3:00AM rides home from my college days...their day shift should be just as accommodating;)

BACFest 2015 schedule will be posted soon. You can reference this map for orientation on the field. The pilot briefing and maintenance clinic will be held in the quonset hut. General aircraft parking and the Thursday 'Welcome Party' will be at Dubuque Jet Center. I believe Dennis has been in touch with most of you and will provide local contact numbers for help as you roll into town.

Suggestion for lodging per discussion at Fred's on Saturday:

If anyone open to adding a roommate for a night or two? I don't have a reservation anywhere, but was hoping maybe another BACer may be in a room with 2 beds but only using one of them. Sharing the room would split the cost in half. Please PM or EM me if you're willing to take in a drifter for a couple nights.

Another thought that came up in the conversation: If anyone made reservations at the host hotel early, then had a change of plans and can no longer attend, (life happens...), could the reservation be transferred to another BACer rather than being cancelled? Not sure if that is even a real situation, but it would be a shame to cancel a reservation at the original discounted rate if there may be others planning to attend but still searching for lodging.

Matt,

Actually the Hilton Garden worked out the best for us by the time we added in car rental fees, etc. I made a reservation for Saturday night and we will just move over there Saturday morning.

The Hilton Garden is a trick, I reckon. the money we save on not needing a rental car using their shuttle will be eaten alive by the casino linked to the Hilton...

Larry, we have 12 passenger van rented and will supply transportation from the airport to the hotel and back. If there is a a group that wants to go out to eat on Wednesday evening we could provide the transportation for that as well. Unless you have a side trip planned a rental car isn't nessasary, or just want the convenience of being able to go when you want.

Hey Gang, I'm really sorry but the fam and I are unable to attend this year's BacFest. I would like the t-shirt, goodies and raffle tickets for my $85, if possible.

My room will be cancelled soon but if anyone wants it, I'll coordinate with the hotel. Here is the room info,
