Around The Moon
Fly-in breakfast and private air museum tour on Sunday, October 24th, hosted by John Redmon. Tentative plans are to meet for breakfast at 9:30, followed by a private tour of the air museum. More details to follow as we check the restaurant and museum for more information. The link to the museum is:

Bob & John, I've been to BAK several times and the restaurant and museum are worth the trip. It's a Class D airport with crossing runways, but easy in and out and the tower has always been helpful. Parking is right in front of the terminal building which sits adjacent to the tower. My plane is having its annual this week and if all goes well, I'll try and meet you there.

I'm in annual too, but hope to have it back together by the weekend!!!! October must be annual month - Dan Kirby's Sierra is in annual, too.

Not sure why this thread showed closed, but I opened it.

Weather not looking real good for Sunday. Hope the forecast is wrong, as usual.

Any one else planning to attend?????

The plan is to meet at the restaurant for breakfast at 9:00am EDT in order to beat the church crowd. The tour of the museum will begin at 10:30am. We will meet in the terminal building and walk over. After the tour we can go back to the restaurant for those that arrived for the tour and skipped breakfast. I need to now how many are planning on attending and for which activities. Breakfast-tour, tour- lunch, all three. The owner of the restaurant will make arrangements to seat us all together.

The Bakalar Air Museum will be providing two tour guides and showing a 20 minute movie in their media center. Runways 5/23 are closed. BAK has an airport diagram. So be sure to review the notams. I flew down on Tuesday to check things out and as Brad mentioned it is an easy airport to get in and out of. It is my favorite place to go to eat. It is only a 15-20 minute flight for me.

I'm still waiting on my A&P to complete my annual Friday or Saturday. At best, I'll try and be there by 10:30 Sunday for the tour, then will eat afterward if anyone wants to stay for lunch.
Brad

The weather for Sunday doesn't look good. Can anybody make Saturday instead? If so, we may change it to Saturday due to weather.

Please post and let us know if Saturday would work.

We will post any change as soon as we can.

Spoke to my A&P this morning. Doesn't look like he's going to finish my annual this weekend, so I won't be able to make it to BAK. Maybe next time.

I'm still waiting for nose wheel bearings, though the weather looks lousy for me even if we do get them in today. The Cote curse lives on!

Due to the weather forecast for Sunday. The fly-in has been rescheduled for tomorrow Saturday Oct. 23rd.

Same times will be used.
Breakfast 9:00am EDT
Tour 10:30am
Lunch after tour, optional

Please post if you are planning on attending.
See you there!

The weather in NW Indiana is forecast for 60% chance of rain tomorrow and only 40% on Sunday. I was going to try and make it Sunday but I am working on Saturday and can not attend.
