BAC Picnic at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh - Oshkosh, WI (KOSH) - Thursday - July 27, 2017

Outstanding work Bob and John !! We need to get a club tripod so all of us can be included in the group pictures. Great seeing everyone . The tent was helpful in navigating thru the woods to find our location.

It was a blast seeing and visiting with everybody as well as the fantastic food and beverages. We won't make BAC Fest but hope to see everyone again at Triple Tree and Beechfest Tullahoma.

Well, I think after this record breaking attendance this year we will have the picnic on Thursday again next year. We had 29 members and guests attend. Having it earlier in the day also helped. Not competing with the afternoon air show. This in part in years past was working around Bob's schedule as he volunteers at the helicopter operations. Thursday was his day off this year. This was the first time to run out of brats and hamburgers but we did not run out of fellowship and refreshments.

Thanks to all that attended. You are what made this a successful event. Thanks to Bob for allowing us to have it at his campsite and for doing the grocery shopping. Bob, you did a great job this year getting everyone to sign in.:D

Next year so the cook can have time to talk to the attending members we are thinking about starting at 11:00am. An hour of meet and greet then lunch will be at 12:00 noon. This will give everyone more time to chat, eat, and socialize before the afternoon air show. Fire up the grill at 11:45am.

Pictured are: Dennis Williams, Doug Allen, David Prange, John Persinger, Bob Prange, Mike Freeman, Doug Garin, Andrew Prange, Andy Kavie, Walter Ney, Nick Boland, Cameron Ney, Charley Booton, Fred Hannon, Kevin Eaton, Mark Lewis, Mike Nielsen, Andy Nielsen, Bob Schmidt, Roland Ashby, Carson Ney, Greg Johnson, James, Lillian, James Brocksmith, and Lisa Hannon in the foreground. Not pictured are David and Greg Hast and behind the camera John Redmon.

I think what we forgot regarding food is that we had it at noon (lunchtime!) instead of mid afternoon, so everyone was hungry! We'll fix that next year!

We lost some of our members early as they had to leave to go to presentations and other things in Airventure. I know this is a non-standard idea, but what if the lunch was at 5:00 p.m. or so? Then it wouldn't compete with Airventure. Even better it could be after the air show concludes around 6 p.m. We would have the evening to visit and leave without feeling like we were missing Airventure. I am fine with what we have done, but wanted to offer another idea even though I don't know if it would affect attendance positively or negatively. Great job John and Bob. Thanks for all you have done!

That is a great idea! I actually missed something I was suppose to do because I wanted to be social.

Agree with the PM on Thur event time. Of course, our gracious host needs to be ok.
