BAC Picnic at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh - Oshkosh, WI (KOSH) - Thursday - July 27, 2017

Wishing I could make it this year, as have enjoyed AirVenture and esp the BAC events when I am there (next year looks good). Thx to all who have stepped up to make them memorable. Couple of hints if I could...The EAA website is awesome if you cannot be there so check it out. There is a lot there already, and the webcams are up and running and you can see the airport come alive with arrivals and activity. The radio feeds are great to listen to as well. If you do go, you already know to bring the mandatory tiedowns. Let me add you should think about a small piece of plywood for underneath each of your wheels. If parked on grass your aircraft will settle over time and require either a mighty yank or push to make the first move (might need others to help), or a really high powersetting to get it moving. Don't ask me how I know this.
Enjoy the event, and perhaps post with your experiences. Cheers and fly safe.

Here is my phone number if you need to reach me. I will be posting a map of Bob's campsite once I arrive at Oshkosh. If you want me to text you a map just call me or text me. See you all on Thursday.

Here are two screen shots for the BAC Picnic 2017. One broad and a second closer in. Again I can text the directions to the pin drop or you can call me. The canopy will probably not be up until Thursday morning. Bob's campsite is in Paul's Woods on the Northside of the ditch. If you cross the ditch you went too far. It is South of Exhibit Hangar D and southeast of the Fly Market. If you have been to AirVenture before you know these landmarks. If not, they are clearly marked on any map that you would receive with your admission. I'll see you on Thursday!

These did turn out as well see the next 2 posts.

JP and I will be there. Drove up this afternoon. JP is driving a rental from Chicago Thursday morning to arrive in time for the picnic.

Everyone, please remember to bring your chairs if you have them. Last count we are expecting to have 29 people. See you all at noon.

I am on my way. Walking from Vintage. I had to move my plane due to the Blue Angels, so it was a major pain...... Be there about 12:30

What a great turnout for the BAC Picnic! Saw some old friends and made some new friends. I think Thursdays may be the best day for this! Hope everyone has a safe trip home.

Here is a picture of our attendees. We had 29 this year. I'm back to work 12 -14 hours a day. So, a write up will be another day or two.
