I can't say how much fun it was to fly the formation from KAWO to KKLS, where we departed from Ben and Heather. Great time and who can say there was better scenery? Ok, not the best weather, but duckin' under there and chinkin' over there made for a great flight. Unfortunately my camera was in the luggage compartment (thanks Thom for being on top of that and getting some great photo's). This was a learning experience for me for doing formation flights. I have done a few before, but this was the only one that had a weather factor. All and all, we looked pretty darn good with our three plane formation. Ben at the lead and me and Thom in trail, left and right. Please believe me that the pictures don't do the flight justice. Outstanding scenery and more fun than an extra long ride with an E-ticket.
What a great time at KAWO (Arlington)! Met lots of nice folks and I think it was for the better for our club. We have a couple of "irons in the fire" and there maybe be more goodness for our airplanes coming down the road. We definitely made an impact and I hope we can do the same every year. We were under the "big top" with the big boys and they all came by to see what we were about. Most were surprised. So, in my humble opinion, the exposure was well worth any expense incurred by the club. Some "deals" are in the making that we all may benefit from.
Personally, I would like to thank our "Canadian Contingent". They made a great effort at no little expense to be there. Many came a "fer piece" just to enjoy the chilly temps and the drizzle. True "PacNorWesters" every one! Eh?
I had some other business to do on my return and tonight I will sleep in my own bed for the first time in awhile. Didn't seem that important until now. Go figure?
