The annual Orcas Fly-in is next weekend, Aug 7, 8 & 9. Free overnight tie-downs, no charge for camping, burgers & dogs dinners Fri & Sat (bring a potluck dish or donate to the cost - your choice). Fire Hall is hosting pancake breakfasts Sat & Sun mornings.
Usually, we get 100-120 planes come in. About 60% come in for the day, the rest camp out. Here's a link to the airport's web page: http://www.portoforcas.com/events/
We got lucky this year and the SeaFair Blue Angels Airshow TFRs are NOT the same weekend. So getting through, under or around Seattle won't be a problem this year.
The 7 day forecast for Orcas Is. shows 20% or less chance of rain, high temps in the low 70's and southerly winds 5~10.
