With the passing of Ann Mitchell, there may be several of you who want to fly to the funeral. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday November 23, 2015 at the First Christian Church, 911 High St., Paris, KY by Rev. Jeff Bell. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery. We will be having an official fly-in for this event to aid in any planning and transportation issues. The field will be Georgetown/Scott Co airport (27K) This is Brad's home field. They have a van that they are reserving for our use that morning. I believe there is a $15.00 usage fee so whoever pays that, send the receipt to John Persinger for reimbursement. I am setting the time at 9:15 am with the van leaving at 9:45. Ann never met a stranger and I'm sure the church will be packed so best get there early. The church is several miles away from the airfield. Please respond to this thread if you are going to fly in so that we can coordinate the van use and also so we will be expecting you and not leave you!

Hi Folks,

OMG - I didn't even know she was ill - man - Jackie and I met her in Norfolk at the BACfest Friday night meal - she was the very first person to come up and welcome us at the dinner - LOL - and immediately - as Alan stated - made us feel like family - what a warm and wonderful woman... I think Alan has a great picture of her playing around in front of one of the planes - I just noticed it a couple nights ago when I was going through the lib - she looked like she was truly having a great time... Man...

My sincerest condolences Brad...

Regards,
Scott

I also plan on attending . Brad , The Club owes you one big Hug ( You will need a crowbar and mace if I am to deliver it)When I think of Ann ,all I can do is smile. Thanks for sharing her with us .You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

What a loss! I was crushed, when I called JP and learned that Ann had past. JP is like me, never down and out. But we were bummed out with this news.

I have been so blessed to party down with Ann at BACfest each year! I'm always good for throwing gasoline and jet fuel on a fire!! Ann, Debbie and all the BAC ladies have great fire and laughter!!! Those were the days!!! I will always cherish her memory.

Brad, my brother, you have my thoughts and prayers for your strength and courage, in the coming days. Never forget how much you mean to us. And that we love and support you. Godspeed!

Your friend for life!

Bill

Not many people are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Ann was one of those. She will be dearly missed, but memories of her will be cherished forever. That is a small comfort for such a great loss, but it will have to do. God bless Brad and the entire family with comfort and healing at this difficult time.

Mere words cannot express my most sincere gratitude for all the kind words posted here and all the private messages and emails I have received from our BAC family.

I visited 27K today and they assured me no rental fee will be assessed for use of the crew vans for transportation. I will also have the obituary and directions to the church available at the counter.

For anyone able to be with us Monday, we invite you to join us for lunch at the church following the ceremonies.

All for one and one for all.

Brad

For those who couldn't attend, here is a PIREP for you.

Ann's ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and as expected was full of smiles, tears, and laughter. Ann's pastor (Rev. Bell) did a wonderful job conducting the ceremony which included some great stories of Ann's love for life, as well her positive impact on everything she touched. Rev. Bell's references included a card from one of Ann's students (an 8 year old girl I believe),who drew a card of her living in the clouds, and wrote the words: Enjoy your After Life. Although I only met Ann once, following the ceremony I felt as if I knew her well, and its clear that their are many folks who are better people as a result of knowing Ann. May She forever rest in Peace.

BAC info: There were 3 member planes from 3 different states in attendance (N6681X (WV), N9299S (OH), N1960L (TN)). The FBO mentioned that another plane was planning on coming, but had a dead battery and was unable to depart. The Airport (27K) and FBO Staff were excellent. The Field has a very nice FBO, good pavement and parking area, easy approaches, and great pricing for AvGas.
Additionally, the event provided the unexpected opportunity for two BAC members (Lukas Salyer & Joe Kirby) to meet for the first time which lead to a great discussion of flying.
