I did my checkout dive in a quarry in December. The outfit that was leading the lessons loaned us each a wetsuit. My brother picked up mine for me. It almost fit. When I fully inhaled, the wetsuit was taunt against my chest. When I exhaled, icy fingers of frigid water sliced down my back.

For those of you not following along on the FB page, today's update is 10.5"-12" ice thickness with some colder weather on the way.

Our mouse is going in for the annual late next week. Hopefully it will be BAC in the air in time to land on the ice.

For me, in Oz, it's the middle of summer. Today is was just too hot for anything. 48.9c (120f) in the shade, but a crazy 75.5c (168f) on the roof!
We only get a handful of days like this each summer, but it's on those days that I wish I had air conditioning at home.

I could use a little of that right now. It's supposed to be several degrees below 0F here. Cold bothers me more than it used to. I'm so grateful for global warming, because think about how cold it would be without it.

always depends on the wx, but planning on making it this year - last year there was some scud running involved that scared me off, plus I was less than a year in the bo -- As long as @corcoran is coming........he owes me a sandwich still (but I'll take a hot cocoa).

120F and no air conditioning, my wife would leave and tell me when I get air conditioning she might come back.
My wife actually left unannounced one morning to visit her Niece in the California mountains one summer. We were living in the Phoenix area during a warm spell (120F+) at the time. It rarely gets that warm here in Tucson. When it does, we are an hours drive to 8,000 ft. The evenings are bearable (with air conditioning), so it's a day trip.
