Fly into Grimes Field and join us at the Airport Cafe for lunch. Arrive by 11:00am EDT. They have an outside dining area. Great viewing area to watch airplanes take off and land. They have great pies. Which I can personally vouch for. Place an order when you arrive and take one home.

The Midwest has had it fair share of rain this week. Parts of Indiana has made the national news from all of the rain we had this week. Looks like a chance of rain both Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully it will hold off long enough tomorrow.

From the forecasts I'm seeing, things will be fine getting there. It's getting back home that could be a problem. Gonna make the call in the morning.

I’ve flown into a couple of these fly-ins that required actual approaches. What kept me away on this one was the forecast for the storms crossing Indiana wasn’t optimistic enough. Sadly.the forecast wasn’t particularly accurate.

Like Patrick said - forecast was inaccurate. I was also concerned abotu thunderstorms especially for the return leg.They sometimes struggle with a stationary front. We went to KRQB (Big Rapids MI) instead and still had a couple of nearly IFR moments which weren't forecast. BTW, every Saturday they have chilli or brats or something going on there. $6.50 self serve. Next time, John! Sorry you had no company.
