2021 Oshkosh AirVenture

Around The Moon
Maybe it is too early or I might not be the right guy to start this thread but.... is anyone going to Oshkosh?

I have already bought tickets and should be flying in. I will be meeting up with friends from Texas on Sunday at a fuel stop(TBD) Southwest of Chicago before Osh to fly in together so we can camp together.

Just thought I would get the conversation started.

I was planning to fly in this year, but couldn't make the schedule work. One of these years, I'll make it happen.....

Hope those of you who do go have a great time!

Airventure is a must for Linda and I.  We will be there the last half of the week, but have been thinking about adding more days.  Will fly in, but not certain if we will camp by the plane or in Camp Scholler.  This will depend how many of our children and grandchildren we can get to go.  It may be a bit early, but I am hoping to hear about the BAC picnic/lunch.  Bob Schmidt is usually the lead on this and I hope he can do it again.  If not, I hope someone can.

During the BOD meeting last week we were discussing the Beech Aero Club program for Oshkosh 2021.  John Redmon and Bob Schmidt are working the issues.  There are some details concerning the campground where Bob camps and sets up the Beech Aero Club Tent that need to be firmed up.  As soon as he has concrete details from the organizers, he will post the plan and details for Beech Aero Club events at Oshkosh this year.  Thanks for the interest that I have seen so far and trust that your BAC Brain Trust is hard at work behind the scenes.  Fly safe everybody!

I'm heading to OSH from Oregon!  Leaving Bend (BDN) on Friday 23rd, and if weather permits, will arrive at Wittman Regional Saturday afternoon.  We will be camping with the Sierra through the end of the week.  Looking forward to the main event as well as meeting any and all BAC'ers (current and future) from around the country.  Obviously we will be camping wherever they put us based on our arrival, and will post here where we are camping when we get there.  Hopefully the BAC lunch organized by John Redmon and Bob Schmidt will be a go one afternoon with details published when they are able.

Contact me here, or using my email vistajf58@gmail so we can exchange contact information, meet, swap stories and compare notes.

Hello everyone.

Ive been looking at a C24R and am trying to see if it’ll be a good fit for me and my family. I’m a little concerned about the space but others are telling me it’ll work perfectly. The only problem is, I never seen one.

Anyone have one that’ll be in OSH mind showing me?

Sounds like there will be several Sierras at Oshkosh. I'll post my location once I know.

I'm not sure what else you are looking at but it's hard to imagine any have more space than a Mouse.

We will be there from Thursday noon on through Sunday morning.  Will be glad to show you our 1976 B24R Sierra and discuss all Sierras with you.  I think I know most of the differences between this and the C24R models.  My cell is:  308-340-7283.

Hi All,

I live about 30 miles from OSH so I'll be driving down to AirVenture most every day.  If anyone camping there ends up with some sort of issue personal or plane related this is difficult to deal with far from home, please feel free to reach out and I'll do what I can to help.

Arrived Friday, parked in Vintage, way down south, not quite the "South 40," they call it North FonduLac, row 138.

See you all at Noon Monday at the Vintage Red Barn for the Vintage ice cream social at 12:30; if they aren't doing that this year, we'll make do with something else.

See you all at Noon Thursday at Bob Schmidt's RV campsite in Paul's Woods for burgers and brats, exact campsite location to be announced.

We stopped in Watertown to fuel and came in as a flight of two with a friend from Texas. Flew straight in no delays. Endeavor checkpoint was active.

Hi J Jones, I found your Sierra, but missed you this afternoon.   I did however bump into Michael Dunlevie about 10 rows before you!  If not before,  will look for you at noon tomorrow for the gathering!

Unfortunately I will not make my trip to Airventure this year. One of the goals was to get to the Garmin booth to review the "Airventure Special" on navigation database subscriptions. I received notice from Garmin of "up to $100 off on select database subscriptions". Timing is perfect as my subscription ends this current cycle and it's renew time. Spoke to Garmin support and the "special" is not available except at the booth. However, subscriptions can be purchased by someone attending for an account that it is not attending if attendee has the info. No downloads are being done at the booth, no data card needed, since the current cycle does not end until next month. Anyone attending interested in checking out the booth deals? I'm needing the U.S. Database bundle (Nav, Obstcls, Terrain). Assuming this bundle is in the special, but no details on the discount. I can Venmo $ to you or do credit card on phone if they'll allow. Contact me 214-347-2419, i won't be online again until after 6pmCST today. Much thanks.

Saw some of you, missed others.  I'm not online at OSH so now home.  Had a great spot at the very west end in North 40.  The end allowed extra spots so no one blocking my view of the entire runway 27.  Some videos to come once up on YT.  Hope everyone enjoyed the show.

Rolled out at 1030am. Due to some minor technical issues landed back in NC at 7pm. It was a fairly weather free flight.

Seriously need air conditioning in N9372S. It was a very muggy ride home. But 7 hours still beats a car by 9 or 10 hours.

found a couple mice on the field too.
