Thank you for the encouraging news.

BACFest goes on rain or shine.
There may be wind.
There may be rain.
Nothing changes.

Just a reminder to anyone travelling over southern Ohio on the way to or from BACfest, feel free to stop at I43 if you need an overnight stopping point. Just PM me or call 740-710-1164.

Tom, Not to worry. Even if tropical storm Jose does affect the east coast, it will be gone by Thursday. The sun will shine, BAC'ers will gather, and we will have a great time.

If you forgot to bring something to BACFest don't fret.
There is a Walmart across the street from the Hampton Inn.
(For our British Festers, Walmart is like a weird American excuse for Harrod's).

If you are hungry many restaurants are nearby. Pasta House is very good and only a short walk.
Ninety-Nine is a comfort food place. It is very popular and just two blocks away. Next to the "packie".
Mexican is around the corner. Thai food is 1/4 mile nearby.
Seafood restaurants abound both east and west on Route 6. Turks east. Black Whale west.
Elizabeth's right in Fairhaven near the water gets rave reviews. Maggie's in next door to Elizabeth's.

You will have a buffet at Waterfront Grille and a buffet at Wamsutta Club... both in New Bedford.
You will love the seafood at Seafood Sam's for lunch during the Cape Cod Canal Tour.

Bob,

You will find local seafood. (Try the live bait shop nearby for maximum freshness).
All the restaurants are very good. I have not eaten at them all. However it is a goal.

If I names names here it may make some people miss out on the variety available.
New Bedford is the most important fishing port in the USA.
Everything you eat around here for dinner was swimming this morning or yesterday.

Did you know... that New Bedford boats harvest 500,000 pounds of scallops per day?
The scallops don't have a chance.
btw: The are not "skal-apps". They are "skol-lops".

Sounds good to me. I'll explore. I love scallops! Being from the midwest, most fresh seafood is either rare or really expensive.

Bob,
You can pick up scallops right off the jetty at Sorrento. And, there are lobster in the rocks around the beach where you got your feet wet.
Just sayin,...........for next time.

Now you tell me!!! Next time may come sooner rather than later. If you and John cook up another trip, let me know.
