Thanks Dan, you are confirming my suspicions. Although, your Basic Empty Weight is pretty low for a Super III. The Sport I have in the hanger has an Basic Empty Weight of 1545 lbs and it's not well equipped. It's going on the scales pretty soon. Actually, I use OEW (operating empty weight). I drain the airplane down to unusable fuel and weigh it with just the POH in the airplane. Maybe the term for Basic Empty Weight is the same thing. Too many years in Commercial Aviation.
 
I always weigh the airplane with the scales under the wheels. BUT, I level the airplane by adjusting tire pressures. Then I drop plumb bobs from the leading edges of both wings and use that as the reference of 103.0 aft of datum. Then measure to the axles center lines from there. I think this is the easiest and best method to weigh a baby Beech.
