Today Jan 25....... Fly Houston

Max-1

Orbiting Earth
If anyone has a good airport restaurant to grab some grab around noon to 1300 hrs I’d drop in. today I am going to explore the airports see what’s what and where.

If I am in the air just email to [email protected] and it should pop up on my phone. I guess I plan on going to Sugerland first and make a circle around the center (IAH) to explore the area.

I figure Ill start aviating around noon. I like the area already.

I’ll do it clockwise rotation.

If you want to stop in at Hooks we will meet you there for lunch.

KDWH, northwest side of Houston.

Don't forget the 2000 foot ceiling under KIAH. It is on several sides as you fly around, going up and down in spots.

The Aviator Grill has a GREAT club sandwich.

email being sent. Let us know

But other good ones for you to fly into is the Walnut Cafe in Conroe KCXO. It is 200 feet up above the Galaxy FBO.

Brenham ( 11R ) is just 20 minutes to the west with a nice 50s style menu - and the waitresses wear actual poodle skirts!!!

Good meeting you, and the info is invaluable. I guess tomorrow I’ll get to Sugerland, no Peerland first that’s a lot closer.. and then to Sugerland and then on to do the circle.
Weather much better here than Punta Gorda, I know the summer is hot both places but a cool winter is a very good change of pace for me. Couldn’t believe that girl Remembered me From two years ago.. It’s a good start.

thanks. To you and Jennifer was very cool to meet you both..

Using an iPad so syntax on my part maybe even worse than usual.. :D

Next time you go, fly the VFR corridor between KIAH and downtown Houston. Over the top of I-10 and under the Bravo shelf with great views of the skylines and the sprawl that is the Houston Metro Area.

I am enjoying the flying here. Yesterday the skies cleared up to clear later in the morning and it was a perfect day to fly. Went to Gulf Coast airport great tasting Cat fish, and a slice of cheese cake. One meal and the daily caloric intake was reached. Dropped into another 2 airports. And all was good. Haven’t felt the fun in flying in years as I did yesterday, big open country from horizon to horizon, lots of little airports with friendly people. Pretty good.

I also noticed something interesting, there are lots of Mice out here. Down in Peerland I counted about 5 mice on the ramp, my Sierra was the only one, up in Hooks there was one on the Ramp Docknick did not know who it belongs to. I suspected all Sierra drivers are on the forum.

Another I noticed is how tall the Sierra sits, it really looks well sitting there among the pipers, the Grumman Yankees and home builds and mine is an old machine. Yet it looked pretty good among all those other low wings. As I set out at the restaurant terrace with that plate of catfish.

maxmason....If you are on Facebook, look up "South East Texas Aviators" page. These are the local guys (for the most part) that fly out together on the weekends. Sure you will enjoy the page. Great bunch of guys.
