Throwed Roll Fly-In (KSIK)

Flight Levels
I have posted a fly-in for Saturday, May 3 at Sikeston, MO (KSIK), home of the infamous Lambert's Cafe and their throwed rolls, http://www.throwedrolls.com/ For those that don't know, waiters push carts full of homemade yeast rolls through the restaurant. Whoever wants a roll, raises their hand and from across the room, a roll is tossed in your direction. With amazing accuracy, I might add! Please let me know if you are interested in attending. If we don't get 3 or 4 planes, I'll reschedule for a better day. I always stop at Sikeston on my way to Gaston's and can't wait to get back. Good country eatin' and all the throwed rolls you can eat! We'll plan to meet at the airport between 11:00 and 11:30. It's a short 5 minute ride to the restaurant. The owner is a pilot and he always brings fellow pilots in the side door for immediate seating. If you need more info, email me at [email protected]. Hope to see you there.

Brad,

1B9 is too far from KSIK for me to attend... but I do like your style. Every fly-in you post revolves around food or bourbon.

Brad,

Looks like my plane is grounded for a while. Found a nasty crack in the engine during the annual. Trying to figure out options. Any owners in the Southeast heading that direction who can detour by CSG I would love a ride.

Will be back up and flying in time for the Bourbon festival. I challenge Tom to a taste off. :)

Shindig

A "taste-off" can turn into a "Shindig" depending upon the amount of Bourbon imbibed and the proportionally decreasing seriousness of the participants. Please note that on rare occasions where musical instruments have been introduced into this environment there is a statistically significant chance of a "Hootenanny" resulting from the combination...Southerner's Dictionary for the Geographically Impaired, 2008 Edition

Anyone else interested in Lambert's this Saturday, May 3? So far just Gary & Debbie Boyce and Brad & Ann Mitchell have indicated they are interested. We're all repeat visitors, so we know what's in store. Let me know if anyone else is interested. We're planning on meeting around 11:30 (central time) and have lunch about noon.

I'm very interested and would really like to attend but it's a bit of a "drive" for me! Have a throwed roll for me!

Brad, its optimal for me and anyone else in Arkansas. However, I'm scheduled to finally be painting my truck (and hopefully for the last time).

Hopefully a couple more guys will chime in, its perfect and I wish I could make it.

Brad,

Wish I could join you but it's the same day as my Grandson's birthday party so my presence is spoken for. Hopefully you'll repeat the trip later this year. I've gone over or past Lambert's many times but have never gotten the time to stop for a meal.

I have heard from several people that would like to attend, but are unable to this weekend. We have decided to postpone the Throwed Rolls fly-in until later this summer in hopes of having a better crowd. Stay tuned.
