It's time again for the annual Sun n Fun Airshow at Lakeland Linder Airport. As in recent years we've had a decent showing of BAC folks and we'll have the Type Club Tent staffed throughout the week. As before, if you work the desk, you get a free airshow/parking pass for the day. However, the Sun n Fun staff only allotted seven such passes for us this year. Myself, John Persinger, Fred and Lisa Hannon, Fred Culleton, Tim Hall and Rick Gaffney will man the tent sporadically throughout the week. However, I will be there the whole week and pick the passes up before the show. If someone leaves early and/or arrives late, perhaps we can arrange swap out of passes if others want to work.

Should be a great show with the standard array of warbirds, aerobatic displays capped off by the USAF Thunderbirds arriving late Thursday.

Please plan on attending our BAC dinner hosted at Manny's Chophouse on Friday, April 13th at 6:00 pm...third year in a row. Always delicious and great service...5125 Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL 33813, 863-940-9924. They normally don't take reservations, but they said they'll set aside about 25 spaces for us.

It looks like the Thunderbirds have canceled their show at Sun 'n Fun.

Sorry that some folks didn't get the information about Sun n Fun but I submitted the details for last month's newsletter. It's also been posted on the BAC website/calendar for the last month or so...gotta check the calendar. I'll be here all week give me a call and drop by the tent. Starting Thursday I'll have a weekly airshow and parking pass if anyone would like to help work the type club tent for a couple hours a day. Should have another (both passes) available starting Friday. Call me 850-496-6912 if interested. Can't beat the price!

The type club tent is located across the taxiway from the Vintage Aircraft Hospitality Center. You'll see a yellow Piper Cub and an Ercoupe in front of our tent. Also just south of the grandstands that overlook the warbirds parking.

I was there today, the 14th and plan to be there on the 15th. Fly home commercially Monday morning.

I was there on Saturday an I have to admit that I was disappointed in the lack of Mice on the field. Only saw two and both had covers over them so I couldn't really get a look at either. Both I believe were Sundowners.

I enjoyed Sun 'n' Fun generally and enjoyed the Friday do too. Thanks for the hospitality and for the DVDs.

I never did find the BAC tent, but I found lots of other stuff while I was looking for it, so all was not lost.

Ouch! Seeing Laura's post about the DVDs reminded me that I forgot to ask about them when I stopped by the tent. Are there more copies available? I'm glad to pay whatever the cost + shipping is.
