Spring Kickoff - Saturday Mar 17th - Western PA

We can't let this go! We have a beautiful day coming up tomorrow and I have a need to fly and meet some folks. Air boss Haag please pick a place and we'll go with it.
 
I called the restaurant at Franklin Verango KFKL and they will be open tomorrow.

No rental cars available at KBFD.

My recommendation would be to move it to KFKL.

So just to be clear. 11AM at KFKL- Venango Regional ? Im really looking forward to seeing some other Beech's get some ideas on what im doing to do with my Musketeer and meeting other pilots!

Yeah - I spoke with Glenn and that seems to be the best move... When I fly somewhere - I appreciate a good meal at the end of a flight... You have to go where the food is... Glad to see some new faces joining the fray - with enthusiasm - as that was my intention of scheduling a fly-in out in the most Western fringes of our region... Unfortunately - I'll have to catch you guys next time - as that puts me out to the three hour mark each way... A bit too long for me with the current prices of AvGas... I hope you guys drag some more guys in from the area and have a successful fly-in... Have a good time and be careful out there...

There is one more possibility, and I would suggest it to include Scott. That is to fly to my home airport of KFIG in Clearfield. Nice airport and we have world famous Denny's Beer Barrel Pub with a hamburger worth more than $100. Actually they hold the Guiness Book record with a 125+ pound burger. Nice airport located in the center of the state and you can ask Marty Manover and Doug Muse as they stopped here on the way back from Ithica BAC. So how about 11:00 at KFIG?

Hi gents,
I am so very sorry for not following up on the BFD flyin. I just got swamped with work over the past few weeks. You are correct, resteraunt is closed. They have been having serious issues with that resteraunt lately. I could have borrowed a van for tomorrow but a few hours ago started getting the chills, headache and cramps etc ect. Great, got a bunch to do this weekend too. This sucks. Anyway hope you all have a good flyin. Wish I could go. For another future flyin (with resteraunt) consider St Mary,s OYM. I hear the Silver Wings is pretty good place. closed on Monday though.

Guys, I'm confused (not unusual). As Scott has not responded to Harvey's suggestion, I assume that we're doing Franklin KFKL at 11:00. Is that where we are on this? It's 9:30 the night before. We need to drive a stake in the ground.

Sorry - had some running around to do last night... I'm fogged in anyway - with the TAF having it clear around 10:00 - which is kind of late for me to make anything in your neighborhood... Looks like the fog is going to be an issue through late morning. No rush, most of us are probably going to be behind our planned schedule anyway. Would suggest that we post our status and ETA's as they become apparent.

Scott, sorry you couldn't make it. I've got my camera with me to handle the pictures.

Still fogged in at Lancaster(KLNS), looks like I wont be able to make it since its an hour and a half flight and fog probably wont lift until 11-11:30 or so. Hopefully next time!

I was going to offer a consolation prize - as we have a brand new restaurant at KMGJ - that I have yet to try... I was going to suggest those of us who couldn't make it today - we try my airport on Sunday and I'd buy... BUT - looks like more of the same weather for tomorrow morning... Probably best if we save it for another weekend... Been trying to get something on Sunday for Jeff (see - I didn't forget) as well...

I'll probably try some local practice this evening - if the weather cooperates...
