Skyline Restaurant - Portsmouth, OH (KPMH) - Saturday November 27, 2021

Flight Levels
Fly or drive to the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport (KPMH) and join us at the Skyline Restaurant located on the field for lunch at 11:00am EST.  Joe Kirby will host the event.  Don’t miss this one.  This has been a fun event for many years now.  In years past that jolly old elf St. Nick would arrive at 11:00am.  Not sure about this year, but come any way.  Look at Skyline’s Facebook page, photos. And you will see one or our fly-ins with Brad Mitchell sitting on Santa’s lap.  I have tried to contact the restaurant to confirm Santa's arrival.  I will update with any new information when it becomes available about Santa.

Just confirmed with Skyline that this will be a fly-in without Santa Claus, sorry.  I know John had his list all ready to give to Santa.

Thanks for checking Joe.  I tried several times and could never get anyone to answer the phone.  Probably short staffed like everyone else.

Unfortunately, Santa did not make an appearance this year at the Skyline Restaurant.  Several patrons were dressed in Christmas attire obviously anticipating Santa's arrival.  Hopefully next year.  Weather was good for today's fly-in.  Clouds were BKN/OVC at 7,0000 to 11,000.  Eventually clearing for a while before becoming OVC again.  We had six attendees, three members and three guests.  Mark and Marilyn Kendall brought their two grandkids Mason and Demi.  Two Sierras and one Musketeer were on the field.  Joe Kirby our host had the long flight from Jackson, OH (I43).  A grand total of 15.2 miles.  It was good time.  Another restaurant that was not very busy and could use our patronage.  If you are looking for a place to go for good service and good food this is it.  Next up in December Sporty's Pilot Shop will be our last fly-in for the year.

Sorry to have missed it this year, even without Santa!  I had a houseful for Thanksgiving and couldn't shake loose.  I plan to be at Sporty's next month.

Brad

Thanks for organizing this, and other Fly-ins, for our region, John.  I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it; hopefully can make the short trip to Sporty's in December (I'm at KGEO and their students are over here all the time bouncing the pattern :) )
