A new thread for registration and News for the BAC St. Augustine Fly-in

Registration will be $30.00 dollars per person.
This could be less, depending on number of attendees. (Think rebates).
You may bring guests and their cost will also be $30.00 per person.
This covers the dinner, with the guest speaker on Saturday evening.
Wine and Beer will also be provided.
Menu choices will be posted in the next two weeks.
St. Augustine Airport Pilots Association meeting on Friday evening will be approximately $5.00 per person for your meal (on your own).

We hope to have a minimum of 20-25 attend. We have room for several more.

There will be more updates as they become available. They are many local attractions. The beach, lighthouse, Old Fort, trolley tours,
Premium Outlet Mall, Zoo, and Ripely’s Believe It or Not, are examples.

Thank you for the kind words and guidance.

I appreciate everyone’s assistance in getting us to this point, especially you,Brad and Dan.
Things are pretty much in place and we are looking forward to hosting the first BAC Fly-in at St. Augustine (KSGJ).

Jane and I regret that you and you wife will be unable to attend, but I promise a Jack Daniels “toast” in your honor. We tried to get the band from FloraBama Bar, but they were in jail. I think you remember why.

We hope that many members and their guests are able to attend. I have been encouraging everyone to come early or stay longer and take advantage of the great motel and car rental rates made available by Galaxy Aviation.

I am relatively new to aviation, but have met some of the nicest people I know in the past 6 years. The BACFest at Gulf Shores was a great event for Jane and me. BAC members made a great first impression. A couple members even drove me to drink!!

When we attended the Sun-n-Fun BAC dinner (hosted by Eddy) the subject of people wanting to visit St. Augustine came up. After meeting the BAC members there, and then going to BACFest, we wanted to do something in return. The Fly-in is our way of saying thanks to everyone who’s hard
work and dedication has made Beech Aero Club the fine organization it is today. It is the best money I have spent in aviation.

I wish you and Mark were able to attend also. We hope it is a great time for everyone, but it would be better if you both could attend. We will post pictures. We currently
have the event photographer position open, due to Chris not being able to attend, but hopefully someone will step up to help out.

It was a pleasure meeting you both and we look forward to seeing you soon.
 
Ok everyone this is a Big Deal Dave and friends are putting on. We have reworked our Southeast budget to help out. We feel this fly in could become a great yearly event. Top city for Christmas lights etc. Dave also has arranged for a special guest speaker for Saturday night.

Saturday evening: We will meet at the conference center of KSGJ, for dinner. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Ron Stauss. *Mr. Stauss was Elvis Presley’s pilot.

We are also offering for the first 10 people to sign up it will be free. Then the next 5 will be 1/2 price. This will be a catered event with a tour and a guest speaker! You must get registered ASAP if you want to enjoy this event for free.




We are confident everyone will enjoy Mr. Stauss and his presentation.

For clarification, the tour is NOT included in the price of $30.00. The tour is optional and the cost is $11.00 each. We must have 25 people for a private tour. This would start at 9PM and last approximately 50 to 60 minutes. This must be paid in advance. If we do not have 25 prepaid, we will
issue you a refund. My thoughts are the “Nights of Lights” will be one of the main reasons for attending.

Please make your motel reservations ASAP, if you even think you will attend. They will sell out quickly.

As registration fees are received, names will be added to the list in that order and posted on the web site daily. The free and discounted incentives will be from that list. Active members only for the incentives.

We'll be spending the week in Florida anyway so,
Margie and I are doing the one-night no-airplane deal at St. Augustine.
We will drive up from Kissimmee on Saturday and join the pilot events.
Galaxy Aviation was great and made reservations for us at the Marriot.
So we'll be at the dinner and the light tour and maybe the breakfast too.
Add us to the official guest list!

This is an update for the St. Augustine Fly-in registration. I will be posting this as I receive the registration fees. As you can see, BAC's discount is helping. I have e-mails indicating that the discounted spots will be gone soon. I cannot stress enough, to make your motel and car reservations ASAP with Galaxy Aviation (800-840-1995). It is high season and they will go fast. Please remember that I must receive your registration fee to be added to the list, as I had money from people before the discount was offered saying there were coming. This is the only way I know to be fair. The discount is only for the club members, as we wanted many members to benefit from the discount. The discount will be refunded at the dinner. If you register and then cancel before the deadline, your fee will be returned. I appreciate everyone's support.

There are still some discounted slots open for registrations. We are hoping for great support from members of the S.E. Region, especially Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Everyone is welcome. We are just 4 weeks away. Thanks to those members that have already registered.
 
Everyone should try to make this event even if you fly commercial, fly your plane, or drive. This is a great event in an amazing city. The lights are one of the best in the country. Look at your calendar and let's make this a big event for the club. Invite others also. This event is not exclusive to "club members only". BAC dues paid members are the only ones getting discounts. :)

I am still waiting to see if my schedule clears for this event, so I am still technically on the fence. I should know in a week about this, and if I can attend, will make the necessary arrangements. Sorry for being so wishy-washy, but this one big case I have has me by the short hairs and won't let go, not even for a minute.

Hey Everyone!

This is my first post here... and I thought I'd break my silence to encourage everyone to attend the St. Augustine Fly-In. St. Augustine is not only the oldest city in the United States (sorry Jamestown! <grin>) and an incredible place to visit any time of the year but it was recently named as one of the "Top Ten Christmas Destinations" due to the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. Dave has done great work putting together a fun weekend that will be memorable for all who participate.

Time is getting short, especially for hotel reservations. Please get those made through Galaxy Avation and drop Dave a note (and a check) to let him know you are coming. St. Augustine at Christmas is truly a sight to behold!

BAC St. Augustine Fly -in Registration deadline extended

BAC St. Augustine Fly-in update

Registration deadline has been extended until November 30, 2012.

We must have a close count by this date as we will be attending the SAAPA event on
Friday evening. They need to plan as they already have a large group. We must give our
caterer a week’s notice. If this is a problem, please call me. In addition I need to know your
arrival date.

We hope to have a minimum of 30 attend. We currently have 20 members and guests paid.
We have room for several more. We would like to make this an annual event.

If we have 30 attend, the meal choices will be as follows:
Sirloin MarsalaChicken Marsala
Chicken Bryan
Grilled Tilapia (probably a pecan crusted recipe)
Any special dietary needs, please contact me.
