Bo, know what you mean about almost IMC. That was the most marginal VFR I've ever been in. It must have been worse for you heading west. The farther south I got the hazier it got. Looking off to my right (west) I couldn't see much of anything once I got to about Natchez. I couldn't see a horizon ahead (south) and off to the left (east) I could only see about five miles before it got REALLY HAZY.
Glad I'm almost finished my instrument training. I seriously considered setting her down and calling a cab or at least shooting the ILS into Hammond.
Amazing when I got ON THE GROUND at 1L0 it didn't seem hazy at all. No wonder both New Orleans and Baton Rouge were reporting ten miles.
Pictures have been uploaded to the photo gallery for the PETIT JEAN fly in. Check them out, today they are just under the main photo gallery location, later in the week, they will be moved under South Central Fly Ins.
