Orbiting Earth
Fly in to St Mary's Airport (2W6) by 10am. I will ferry everyone down to the Patuxent Naval Air Station Museum where we will take a tour. Admission is $9.00 or only $7.00 if you are 55 or older. Pax Museum has 22 different Naval aircraft on display. They also have an F-14 simulator that you can fly for 30 minutes for $10.00! After touring the museum, we will continue our patriotic day by eating at Mission BBQ. Mission BBQ is dedicated to helping our armed forces, police officers and first responders. When flying into St Mary's, be aware of all of the restricted airspace. Also, to fly this close to DC VFR, you must have completed the DC SFRA online course. It can be found at https://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_content.aspx?pf=1&preview=true&cID=405. Don't let the special airspace scare you off. It's easy to navigate and the course is straightforward! Come join us!

I just added it to my calendar, sounds like a fun day. Not sure if Mary will attend but I may have a few friends that would like this tour. Thanks for posting.

67 mile hop/ 42 minutes from Ocean City.

I’ve been suffering a bad cold for the past few days and it looks like I won’t be flying or driving by tomorrow so I am cancelling out. But have a great time.

Paul, hope you feel better soon!

08Romeo is fueled, pre-heats on and ready to go. I'm looking at wheels up around 8:30 and should be arriving at St. Mary's by 9:15ish, depending on the winds.

Trying to see if I can make this work , how are we going to get from place to place ? If I come I would have the wife and baby , we have the car seat in the Plane we could use . Worst case I could always fly down and meet eveyone and rent a car

I will have my truck that seats 5. It’s only a few miles so I can easily make 2 trips or throw Persinger in the back!😇

Brrrr! It’s a chilly 35 degrees in ocean city. Just heading into the hangar to wake up 08Romeo. I’m looking forward to a fun museum tour and catching up with fellow BAC members.

Home from St Marys.

I had a fun time at the museum with Alan and John, uploading plenty of pictures now. We followed up with lunch at mission BBQ, excellent food!!

Nice add Gary . Now the secret is out on how I stay so sharp behind the controls. :)

Really? When were you ever sharp behind the controls? You don’t look outside the windows and don’t look at your instruments. Your too busy telling stories to be bothered flying the aircraft. But you do maintain eye contact with whoever your telling your stories to, if that counts for anything?

And to your credit, you usually answer ATC by the third request. To make up for your complete lack of attention to anything related to actually being PIC, you respond to ATC with your excellent impersonation of a very senior Airline captain voice. Now that is something you do really well.

I guess I can appreciate that you try to completely snow us with BS, like this quick little post about being sharp behind the controls. But there are quite possibly women, children and the innocent public that might not know you or your reputation which normally proceeds you by several hundred nautical miles.

Gary, I love the N18990, photoshopped onto the Link Trainer! It’s perfect!
