Oshkosh

I'm planning to organize a type-club get-together (probably a dinner) again this year.

Y'all let me know what days you will be there and I'll pick the day to accommodate the most people.

I've had a suggestion to try to work with the Beech Owners group to schedule our event close to theirs in case anyone wants to attend both. I think their events are earlier in the week, but I'm open to anything.

If I can find someone to set up a campsite, that would also be a great place to meet anytime during the week.

Any thoughts are welcome.

I plan to arrive the Saturday before the event opens. Probably stay until Tuesday. Can only afford a couple days of vacation.

The BeechOwners list is a good source of information on Beech events at the beginning of the week.

Bonanzas and Baron's arrive on Saturday. The sky is thick with them. About 100 Beeches land in formation in a matter of minutes. Lotsa smaller Beeches show up that day, too.

There is a margarita & pizza party after the arrival on Saturday. 150-200 Beech owner/pilots attend.

Sunday (last year) Hawker-BeechCraft sponsored a barbeque. Music was poor, but food was good. There was a signup on the web. 100's of Beech people.

Monday was opening day. Beach Boys concert at 5pm.

If I could go all week, I would. But only able to go for a few days, I wouldn't miss the comraderie of camping in the Beech section of the North 40 at the beginning of the week.

I arrive Saturday afternoon at Appleton Airport, and am staying downtown. I willl leave on Wed noontime again from KATW. Taking the airliner this year. Hope to see BAC members there, and am hoping for some cool temperatures.

Calling in Sick..

I wanna go to Oshkosh! Do you think anyone would get suspicious (including my wife) if I suddenly came down with a highly contagious disease and had to be confined to my airplane???

There's a lot of that going around that time of year. Must be contagious!!!! The only place to cure it is a place called AirVenture. Just plan on attending the Picnic on the Flightline Wednesday or Thursday!!!

Last minute trip
Looks like I might get to OSH this year, maybe stay overnight. Can't remember where I stayed a couple of years ago but they had a bus that would take you to the show. Any good ideas on places to stay? And yes, I haven't looked on the Oshkosh site for rooms, I'm lazy.
