A further look at the enrolled "BACFesters" indicates that we are very good to ourselves.
Most have opted for the king size bed and/or a suite.
Many familiar names are on the list. Many new ones.

The theme "Arrive Early, Stay Late" has been adopted by more than half of the attendees. Most will arrive days before September 21 and a few staying a few days during the following week.

Reasons to extend your trip: Battleship Cove (11 miles) in Fall River; City of Boston (45 miles); Cape Cod (20 miles); Martha's Vineyard (by air 17 minutes); Newport, Rhode Island (36 miles); Whaling Museum National Park (2 miles); Shopping (4 miles); Etc.

Thanks Tom for the reminder. I will also plan on an extended BACFest. Theee is a lot of great flying up there and I plan on taking advantage. Grass strip at Katama Beach on Martha's Vineyard is a great day trip and short walk to the beach.

And Then There Were 7

Tom,

Also thanks for the reminder.

And then there were just 7.......

I got a room early this morning. Don't know if I was counted in the eight left or not. Tom, maybe you have to put your negotiating hat on for more rooms! Who would have thought you were that popular?

The count of rooms in our original block seems to be about 5 remaining.

The nice lady at the hotel said she will attempt to add more $109 rooms if/when we fill our present commitment. She did this after I offered her and her husband a ride in a Sundowner. The Hampton Inn is very accommodating and I think we will like it there.

I'm adding a half day event to the mix. It is a guided tour of Fort Phoenix 2 miles from the hotel. It sits next to Fairhaven Beach and the New Bedford Harbor hurricane barrier which is a pleasant stroll and quite a sight to see.

Arrive early, Stay late! There's lots to do in New England in September.

Tom Corcoran - IMPORTANT: If the online reservation doesn't give you the $109 rate because you are arriving early, call the hotel directly and they will fix it.

Tom,

For what it's worth, the direct link didn't work for me, so I called the phone number you provided. Even though it seemed to route to a reservations center, the nice lady easily recognized our club name and rate.

Thanks for all your work on this. Just keep Cote away from the AWOS equipment!
