D'ya remember my ill fated "First Fly-In of the Year"? Well, we're gonna try it again. Let's see it snow on us this time!
Saturday, Aug 25th, 10:00 to ???? at Greenwood Lake (4N1) in W.Milford NJ.
Loose program, we will meet in their "conference" room for socializing and then have a cookout. Those of you in the western part of the NE Region have been sorely neglected in the last few years. But now you are beginning to outnumber us hardcore Yankees in New England. (How can we be Yankees if we root for the Red Sox?? Oh, never mind.)
Just a note on the field. This is the same place I raved about in the last BAC Talk. However the winds of change have blown through there. For one, the partnership running that great restaurant has broken up!! The good news is that the airport is well on track to replace the management with a new group.
Second, to my dismay, Greenwood Lakes Training, one of the two schools on the field, has succumbed to business pressures. Joe and Gabbi, if you read this, my condolences.
The unfortunate demise of one business does, however, open the door to resurrect the original purpose for bringing in the "Champagne Lady", the Lockeed Constellation parked on field. The intent is to renovate her and turn her into a club/lounge as intended in the 80's.
So come on down and join me on the 25th...and, hey, there will be NO snow dancing prior to that date. Ya hear me?
