Flight Levels
Scott, Gary, Mary and all BAC members. Looking to organize a BAC fly in for Sept. 18. What is the interest in doing this? Some have said they would come if I did this so let's see! This would be some great pics etc. For BAC fest coming up.

Ed, Sounds like a plan... We Live in Endicott, Ny (KCZG),but havee a sailboat at Newport Navy Base. If its a nice day we could be there with our Sundowner... Ron and Betty Feher

Hey Ed,

Count me in if we have some decent weather...
We are due for a nice Northeast flyin as we haven't had any in a while...

Hi Ron,

Haven't seen a post from you since the Edicott BBQ - hope all is well - it would be nice to see you and Betty again too... One of the best Sundowner paint jobs I've ever seen - and - an Aspen to boot... OR - you could always bring the boat - I like sailing too...
: )

Regards,
Scott

Ed,
Check with Regional Director Paul Shuch (DrSeti on BAC) to get this listed as an "Official" BAC Fly-In. That way people can gain PT points and your costs can be covered.
Unfortunately I cannot attend, I am teaching that day. Probably a good thing too, as my absence assures good weather!!

Steve, it is already done(points and event). I will post in a day or two as I work out other details. Thanks

It is all approved. Looking to "stage" at Plymouth (PYM) airport Sept. 18th. Speaking with the local FBO and looks like we can get a fuel discount. This way "if" we can't get into Nantucket everyone will still get PT points and free lunch(I know a great seafood resturant in Plymouth if needed). All goes to plan we will eat lunch in Nantucket. This is where the hit tv show "Wings" was filmed as well. If time allows I have made arrangements for a free pit stop at one of the original Ben & Jerrys stores in Hyannis on the return trip if we want. Need a tenative role call if interested?

I can tell you one thing to watch out for, Cape Air is in and out of there constantly. And they act like they own the field. I would Rx that you confirm with the airport management exactly where they want you to park. Some years a go we had a dozen Mice at Nantucket; had a great time. (Pictures on BAC) But I heard later that Cape Air was bent out of shape that we took up so much space (we were in the Transient Parking) that their pilots had to actually steer during taxi.
(Though much larger, and not based there, Cape Air is the outfit that inspired the show "Wings". Mostly because the same type a/c.)
As to noise, Nantuck, though beautiful and quaint, is not the island you read about in Melville or Olde New England histories. There are serious $$ occupying that island now. And a lot of those folks don't really like us mortals.

On September 18 I will just be getting back to Massachusetts from Prince Edward Island. If Steve Cote would be nice enough to show me where Nantucket is (rhymes with bucket and .... ) I will bring N5162M there for whatever Steve's giving away.

Hi Steve,

Don't worry about Cape Air - I'm putting on my "War Face" for this trip...

Tom,
Sadly, I will not be there. I am teaching a Wright Flight course on Saturdays through October (with time off for BAC Fest, of course).

Scott, that there beast looks more crocodillian than Mousean.

Nantucket is where we had (the) (one of the) first BAC fly-ins in 2004/5.

Somebody show the September 18th times to assemble. My vote would be for 9:30am in Plymouth, Massachusetts (PYM) and a 10:30 departure to Nantucket (ACK). Someone said FREE Ben and Jerry's ice cream in Hyannis/Barnstable (HYA) on Cape Cod.
I would prefer to fly over Martha's Vineyard enroute as that only means 19nm over water with one island (Tuckernuck) which has two runways, in between. I would leave from Mansfield Municipal (1B9) at 9:00am.
