Many thanks to the Koch family for BACFest 2019

Flight Levels
Rick and Chris took BACFest to a new level this year. Everything was fantastic and you raised the bar for future events. It didn't take long to miss that crisp Rocky Mountain air after stepping out into the heat and humidity back here in Kentucky. And thanks to all those that took the time, effort and financial commitment to come to Colorado and participate in BACFest. Without all of the attendees, we wouldn't create our fantastic memories and solidify the many friendships made over the fifteen years of BAC's existence.

In addition to Rick and Chris, thanks goes to George, Peggy, Michelle, Brian and Olivia for all the hard work that went into producing such a superb event. Many many thanks.

Brad

I agree. This one is going to be hard to beat. Thanks Chris, Rick and family! Now I gotta go rest up from all the activities :)

Rick and his family set a new high mark for the best BACFest. Thank you and we are glad we didn't miss this one.

I'm BAC home reflecting on the awesome event I just experienced. Great times, great friends, great memories. Kudos to Rick and his family for all their work to assure we had the best time possible.
Thank you Rick & the Beech Aero Club for BACFest 2019!

This was our first (but not last) BACfest! OMG!
Thanks Rick, Chris and family for such a memorable event! It was such a pleasure to finally meet some of the members in person. What a GREAT bunch of guy's AND gal's to be associated with!

ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL!

Cheers,

Johnnie & Brenda

I want to thank the entire Koch family for this years BACFest. It was apparent that they spent a lot of time working on the large and small details for this event. That it was a family affair for them made it that much better for the Beech Aero Club family. I enjoyed the company of many friends made over the years and made new friends I look forward to seeing at future events.

If you are a member of this organization and have not been to a BACFest, you should get it on your bucket list. Kindred spirits abound!

They did......but, I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I'm sure once the Board members get home and recoupe from BACfest they will announce it officially.

Thank you all for the kind words. You know, when you take your family to a special event or on a special trip, you always want it to be the best you can make it and for BAC - our second family - the goal was exactly the same!

Thank you all for coming. It was so great to see you all here in Colorado and no matter where we find ourselves for future BACFests it will be great to see you all again then. Take care, and safe flying throughout the coming year!

Echoing everyone else, a heartfelt thanks to the entire Koch clan for a great BACfest 2019! I can only imagine the time spent planning and organizing such an event. It was flawless. Super job and very much appreciated.

A wonderful job by the Koch family. Jane and I thank y'all very much for all your hard work in making this another great BACFest.

Terrific event organization! Terrific Location! Fantastic group of pilots & friends. Rick and Chris did one amazing job.

Thank you so very much for the wonderful time! I’m so glad that I made it to my 13th BACFEST.

Rick, Chris and Koch Family, you are such wonderful host, so hospitable, thoughtful and attentive to every detail. O2 bottles for us low landers. Really? Getting me a late reservation at the hotel. And the Starbucks coffee and treats, wine and cheese at the tour stops, was just over the top! Thank you so very much.

Please get some rest, huff on those O2 bottles and reflect on a job well done! I will never forget this experience!

For all of us that couldn't make it this year, we are dying to know the next location so we can start dreaming and planning for next year.

As Fred said, it will be in Tullahoma, TN and will be held in conjunction with the museum's annual Beech Party. Important to note that, while our BACFest is usually held in September, 2020 will be Oct. 7-10. Hope to see everyone there.

After there has all been said already what I would have mentioned I can only repeat : many thanks to the whole Koch family for the fantastic organization!
I'd like to take the opportunity as well to thank Nelson for his hospitality in the AMEN RIVER HOUSE during the pre-event warm up and Tom and Lisa for letting me log my first 1.15 in a SUPER during the fly-out!
I felt a warm welcome from the first minute although I didn't know anybody before that (except Amy and Jay, I enjoyed having seen you again!)
Jeff, J. P. : let's ride together in Tennessee next year!
Marty: great lesson about our engines, although most of us have been too tired to understand all that. Therefore I add the pictures nobody has uploaded before.
I had a great time with all of you, thank you!

The only things that you really need to know about operating your aircraft engine are;

For carburetor aircraft;

Best Economy; Fly at Peak EGT.

Best Power; Lean to Peak EGT, then enrich mixture to 125 to 150 degrees below Peak EGT.

For Injected Engines;

Best Economy; Fly at Peak EGT. Or a little Lean of Peak with an engine analyzer only.

Best Power; Lean to Peak EGT, then enrich mixture to 125 to 150 degrees below Peak EGT.

Summary;

At Peak EGT your CHT should have fallen below 400 degrees Centigrade. Yoda always said, “You can’t hurt your engine flying at Peak (Leanest) EGT.” Don’t try to fly your carb engine lean of Peak. Nor your injected engine without an analyzer.

Gas is never gonna be cheaper than it is today. Throw some gas in that engine and fly as fast as you can. 125 to 150 degrees Rich of Peak puts you in the center of the Best Power Band on this chart. 125 or 150 (Your Choice) is the only number you need to know or care about. IMHO

KISS!!!
