[h=2]Let's have another 'round in Texas[/h]Event TypeBAC Fly-InEvent LocationTyler, Texas KTYR 9:30 am Skyline CafePaid or Fee/FreeFreeWell, we tried for the "cold one" in Texas during February and flopped on the weather. So ... let's hit March early! Your smiling host (Nelson - 210-834-1991 cell) will plan to be at the Skyline Cafe from 9:30 to noon. See the February "cold one" event thread for the food menu.

Come by for breakfast
next Saturday, March 5th or an early lunch, my friends. Bring your airplane stories and we'll also think about Marty's Death Valley flight the same day. First one to post photos wins!! Let's see those aircraft interiors!

Still keeping my fingers crossed on the weather. Forecast of "am clouds; sunny later" for San Antonio, and for Tyler "partly sunny morning, clouds in afternoon" - - - - - I am thinking if anyone needs clouds, just have me schedule an event!!

We'll keep an eye out for fresher forecasts as Saturday approaches, and communicate on this thread.

Less than 2 days away !! Be there .....

==== Forecast for Tyler - - sunny

==== At my end (San Antonio) - - partly cloudy.

I will be watching the TAF and metars closely, but this trip is looking positive for me. I will update again tomorrow evening.

Things get a little dicey late Sunday and Monday/Tuesday, so a good excuse to get some flying in before we close the hangar doors for a few days.

Hope to see you there,
Nelson

I will be coming in around 930-10 but I am flexible and can arrive what ever time works for the rest of the group

Well ..... poop!

Here in San Antonio, the TAF goes from IFR in the early morning hours to ..... LOW IFR at 7:00 am. Then marginal VFR at 11:00 am. So, I will head out to the hangar at sunrise and push out the Sundowner ... and .... wait.

If I cannot launch by 11:00 am, I will not be attending since the restaurant closes at 2:00 pm.

I can learn .... however. This time of year, I will now be planning our events in the mid to late afternoons. Morning cloud cover seems to hit us easily in the southern part of the State right now. Dude.

I suggest those heading to Tyler tomorrow post here, allowing all to figure out if a "meet and greet" will happen. And, of course, you'll hear from me in the morning. There go my dreams of pancakes ....

I would love to make it but we are airplaneless until end of April and it's a bit too much time on the road to drive (I've got to be good and study for Medic renewal test on Wednesday next week).

I'm planning to arrive about 10 or 1030. It is just a short hop from Shreveport. I look forward to seeing a few other members.

It's on!!!!!!

we're gonna have CAVOK here in Houston, and once some morning fog clears up at destination we're GTG for KTYR.

I'll be taking off between 8 and nine, ETA 10-11 , depending on when "she-who-must-be-obeyed" wakes up :-)

Looks like this may work!

I should depart about 9:00 and arrive about 11:30. Currently ready to start and waiting for the sun to burn off the clouds. Improving as I type .....

The fog is burning off here in Houston. Should be taking off a little after 9, should arrive just after 11. Happy days!

A GREAT GATHERING TODAY !!

5 planes and 7 persons. More details to follow, but a relaxed way (and fun) to examine all the airplanes with an impromptu maintenance clinic on the sunny ramp, and a great way to introduce ourselves to each other. We all now have newest bestest friends!

Photos - - official meeting table at the Skyline. Then the mandatory group photo with all 5 planes as a back drop.

And then Richard departing in his Sport with ..... wait for it .... a 180 hp power plant up front. He managed to snag one of those "college specials" from up north. And installed extra windows like a Sierra and ..... hey .... just a minute .... those back two windows are PAINTED onto the fuselage! Most excellent and most cool! Really had me going there for a minute.

Next "south central BAC team mouse driver meeting" is rumored to be headed to Conroe where there may be some most excellent BBQ. Keep that channel tuned right here!
