Let's Do Lunch on Martha's Vineyard (Katama 1B2) 8/1/20 11am

Fly into historic Katama Airfield on Martha's Vineyard for lunch on Saturday, Aug 1. There is a cafe on the field but it gets real busy this time of year so let's do an early lunch at 11:00am.
Katama is a grass field with 3 runways ranging from 3700' to 2600.' All can handle our planes.
 
Alan's Katama Lunch Fly-In is approved by the Northeast Region as an official event which means it qualifies for reimbursement to you for your lunch expenses and landing fees.

If you're making room on your flying schedule that weekend keep Friday July 31 open.

Do they still have the Nudist beach at Martha's vineyard?

Back in the day late 1970's, I used to get a bunch of us at Warner & Swasey GMD and fly from Worcester to Martha's vineyard to peek at the femme sights there. Lol.

Yes. You can sail to a BAC fly-in if you are so inclined.
Other arrival options include a car/bus/excavator/skateboard/go cart/Prius. Ride an animal. Crawl or slither. Get "beamed up" or dumped off.
If you're there... you get full credit... what ever that means.

Max. At one time there were nudist beaches on Martha's Vineyard. I suggest you fly over Gay Head (Aquinah) cliffs and find out.

Remember there are two fly-ins that weekend. July 31 at KGON 2pm and August 1 at 1B2 Katama 11am.

Actually, there's 3. Don't forget about lunch at Brookhaven (HWV on Friday at noon) Plenty of time to make it to GON for the 3 state challenge after that.

What are the details on Orange County for Saturday? I will be there today as that is where I have the Sierra and a C-172.

I was thinking about going up Friday and then staying over for the next one. Anyone else interested?
 
Hello if interested I know that some people don't like to camp but camping is free here at Danielson we do have a shower and a bathroom and food is not a problem.
 
Now that my Deputy Northeast Regional Director (Alan White) has had to cancel the BAC Fly-In...
I will go to Groton, Connecticut on Friday July 31 and participate in the 3 State Challenge if someone else is going.

Same is true for the Martha's Vineyard event.
I am based at Mansfield Municipal Airport (1B9) and not far from either venue.

Note: As the official July 31 event and August 1 event is officially canceled... call me as I am frequently available other times.
