Lambert's - Sikeston, MO (KSIK) - Saturday - October 25, 2025

Hungry for some throwed rolls? Join us in Sikeston, MO (KSIK) on Saturday, October 25th for the ever popular lunch at Lambert's. Plan to arrive by 11:30am CDT and we'll call for the van at 11:45am CDT. Lunch will be at noon. We are long overdue for a return visit.

If anyone is interested. Brad Mitchell would fly to Kentucky Dam Village state park (M34) on Kentucky Lake the night before and spend Friday night. The lodge would send a van over for the 5 minute ride from the airport. From there it will be a short 45 minute flight to KSIK on Saturday morning.

Now that my plane is finished and moved up from Florida to Kentucky Dam, I can easily try to make this unless my wife has some crazy plans that I didn't know about. I've flown into Sikeston in the past when we were visiting my dad in IL.

Lamberts is a Great Place to eat... I used to commute weekly from Memphis to Saint Louis and that was my food stop... They are great... Personally I think the chicken is a little over spiced, but I am pretty much a non-spice person... They are listed as the "Home of the Throwed-Rolls" and yes.. they really throw them to you! Literally... Just ask @MikeTangoIndia ... I took him and his wife there when he picked up 14L.

Linda and I attended a fly-in at Lamberts, Sikeston and Kentucky Lake Village. It was wonderful. We would love to come, but our plane's engine will be installed next week. We won't quite be able to make it. This should be a yearly fly-in.

Can't make this one... plane down for annual but definitely intrigued by the throwed rolls. Safe travels, all!

Looking forward to seeing those that can attend tomorrow. Let's catch some rolls!

Is there a lot showing up? My wife has to do a medical conference at Baptist in Kentucky so if I come I'll bring the 2 little kids with me. I just don't know :) haha

Well, you see the number of responses. Several that would like to attend and can’t. Only a couple that say they will attend. Then there will be those that may attend with no response.

Bring the kids it will be fun.

Sadly I didn't go. It's just not as easy to wrangle the 2 year old without some extra help. The 9 year old is fine but the 2 year old likes to wander off. When my wife told me this week she had to be at a doctor's medical thing all day I felt the winds drop out of my sails. If she would have gone there would have been no problem but I didn't want to chance trying to chase him all over the place. I will look forward to the next one! So sorry it didn't work out. I just got the plane up here to the Paducah area a week ago too!

We had quite a few that wanted to attend but were unable to for one reason or another. I have been talking about posting Lambert's at my other fly-ins for a while now. We had one Super III and three attendees. We had good weather. Which surprised me that we didn't have more. But Warren and Melissa Smith were not going to miss Lambert's. Our server Hayden, it was her first day on the job. She did an excellent job.

Look at the last picture. We have a future pilot in the making. Rosemary June was doing some hangar flying. Getting her introductory flight lesson. Picture shared by Melissa.

I wish I could have made it. There was weather from Louisville to Evansville. A few places were reporting near IFR conditions depending on where the moderate rain was falling. Hopefully I'll be there next time.
