Flight Levels
The airport has reopened. We are a GO for this Saturday, June 16!

Sikeston was a success. 14 attendees. See post #32 for a few of the photos!

It's time for some more throwed rolls at Lambert's in Sikeston, MO. We'll plan for Saturday, June 16 and hope the precipitation and low ceilings leave us alone this year. Plan to arrive at the airport, KSIK, by 11:30 AM Central time and we'll call for the van to pick us up at 11:45. It's a BAC fly-in so Regional Director Dave Gribble has agreed to pick up the tab for all BAC members and their guests who fly with them. Give me a call if you have any questions. Cloyd,
There are 2 Kentucky state parks nearby. I'm already planning to fly down and stay Friday night at Kentucky Dam Village, M34, then fly to Sikeston Saturday morning. The other option is Lake Barkley, 1M9 (one mike nine). It's 60 miles from M34 to KSIK or 80 miles from 1M9 to KSIK. Both parks will come and pick you up from the airstrip and transfer you back and forth. No need for a car. Come join us at M34 and make a weekend of it. I'll make sure there's a picture of you in the next round of Lambert's photos. :)

The current NOTAM says the airport will be closed through noon, June 11. I will continue to monitor with the airport, but for now, the fly-in on June 16th is a GO.

I believe they are repaving! We won't have any excuses for anything other than greased landings on June 16th! :)

I spoke to the FBO yesterday afternoon (June 5) and the airport is on track to re-open on Monday, June 11. So the June 16 fly-in for Lambert's is still a GO! I will re-confirm the first of next week and post again.

Ann and I will be there, along with a buddy and his wife from my home airport. He flies an Archer, so I told him to park away from the quality-built airplanes! :)

I'm planning on flying the Hangarmouse there, and may bring my wife Susan. This is the route we plan to fly: KCID UIN RIVRS T251 FAM KSIK

I spoke to the FBO this afternoon and the airport has reopened. The taxiway is closed, so everyone will have to back taxi on the runway, but they are open for business and Lambert's awaits. Hope to see a big crowd on Saturday. Try to arrive by 11:45 and the van will be waiting.

Dave, it's about a 5 minute ride from the airport to Lambert's. Usually we are seated immediately, and if we're a group of about 10, we typically spend about an hour and a half eating and enjoying the crowd. They take us right back to the airport when we're finished, but if you need to leave sooner, the driver can take you when you are ready.

So if we get away from the airport by noon, even with taking a few pictures back at the airport after eating, it's safe to say you could be out of there by 2:00 - 2:15. See you Saturday.
