KOSU (Ohio State University) Fly-in on April 18th

Around The Moon
This is a re-title of the March 28th fly-in that got weathered out.

Dan Kirby is hosting a fly-in at KOSU (Columbus, OH), on April 18th. We'll meet about 11:30 (EDT), in front of the Barnstormers Restaurant. Barnstormers is on the field and you can taxi to parking right out front. Lunch is scheduled for noon.

At 1:00, we'll have a tour guide show us around the airport, including the maintenance facilities. We might also tour the avionics shop.

Reply to this thread if you plan to attend, so we'll know how many seats we need at Barnstormers!

Nix the hangar full of vintage planes at OSU. It seems one of the young girls I spoke with on the phone thinks any plane with a prop is vintage. Our planes should be vintage enough for us. Hope to see a crowd.

I'm going to either fly down with Bob or I'm going to fly mine with Jeff. We'll see as it gets a bit closer.

Sam

Put me down. As Sam said in the prior post, we'll have two or three of us there from the Waukesha Wisconsin area, weather permitting.

Quit stalking me!!!!

Jeff and I talked a little about it today. If yuo have a pax, we were going to fly 15Q, otherwise I was going to go down with you. I want to be in on the flight planning and stuff, don't necessarily have to fly. I'll give you a call next week.

Sam

Dan or Bob, any idea where Barnstormers is located on the field? Looks like multiple runways at KOSU. Guess a progressive taxi request from ground control may be in order.

Weather permitting, I plan on making the trip. Always enjoy going into someplace new.

Brad

Sam,

Go ahead and do the flight planning - no matter who flies. I'll check with you next week. Maybe we'll find another passenger and take both airplanes!

Dan,

Any info on where the restaurant is?

Barnstormers is right next to the FBO off taxiway A, main ramp. Airnav has a good diagram of the airport, although it looks like there are two FBOs, there is only one, and it is marked with a star.

Dan

Reminder!

The Ohio State University (KOSU) fly-in is next Saturday! Meet around 11:30 at Barnstormers Restaurant, lunch at noon.

So far we've got (weather depending):

Dan Kirby - 1
Brad Mitchell - 1
Dave Sniffen - 2
Sam Cryer - 2
Bob Schmidt - 3

Any More???

It's our first East Central event of the year, so let's hope for good weather and a great turnout to start the season off right!

OSU Fly-in

Sorry guys but my company that I work for has made Sat. mandatory and I have to work ! I hope to catch up with everyone next time ! Dave

Well, it looks like the weather wins again.

Due to the unfavorable forecast for tomorrow, we are going to move the KOSU fly in to Saturday, April 18, same time, same place.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate this time!

OK. I will go then. Hopefully I can master the flying under O'Hare's veil by then............................

See ya'll in a couple of weeks!!

Sam

It's real easy with the Lowrance - just don't fly in any colored airspace!!!

Glad you like the Musketeer! I'm still waiting for a ride.....

Reminder - KOSU fly-in is a week from tomorrow, April 18th!

This is the rain date for the March fly-in that got cancelled due to weather.

It is my firm belief that since Steve Cote got elected to a BAC-wide position, his influence over the weather has expanded as well. If this one gets weathered out, we may have to impeach him!

So far I've got:
Dave Sniffen - 2
Dan Kirby - 1
Bob Schmidt - 2
Sam Cryer - 2

Any more planning to come?

Bob & Dan, count me as 1 for now, but may bring a couple others from 27K. Will advise after we go flying this weekend.

Brad

OK, so far it's:

Dave Sniffen - 2
Dan Kirby - 1
Bob Schmidt - 2
Sam Cryer - 2
Brad Mitchell - 1 (or more)
Jack Clute - 2
Tom Robertson - 2

Now for some good weather!
