Jekyll Island Retreat and Dinner - June 20 & 21

We have 6 people confirmed so far. Who else is coming to Jekyll for a nice retreat?

Dinner will be announced soon for that Sat night. Bring those golf clubs! The Golden Isles of GA have a lot of courses. St. Simmons and Sea Island are very close also if you want to see how the better half lives. :)

St. Simons...

Just be aware that there's always a nasty swirling wind about a mile to a half-mile short of the threshold of Rwy 22 on final. Even citationbravo (Nick) commented to me that it likes to push the Citation Excel around when he lands it there. It'll bank the nose to the left, then kick the tail to the right.

One of the few landings that I did NOT enjoy.

Anyone else coming to dinner on Saturday? Have a lot of "maybe" emails. We will probably do dinner around 6pm. Will post where soon.

The hotel is your choice. The dinner will be on Jekyll Island but you can stay in Jekyll, St. Simmons, Brunswick, or explore other areas. Check the web sites on the calendar entry for lots of places to stay. The Jekyll Island Club (very nice) has a private pilot package.

Should be there the plane is not ready yet.. but myself Tim Hill and Rick Gaffney should see ya..
 
Tim, are you and Rick going to join us for dinner? I was going to make reservations tomorrow after checking a few places. We are shooting for 6pm.

All others: Even if you want to fly in for dinner and not stay over let me know. We would love to have all those in SE GA, Coastal SC, North FL, and more. You could eat dinner and still make it home before it gets too dark.

Fly-in at Jekyll Island

Ok Here we go,
Scheduled time to meet is 5:30 PM at Jekyll airport. Dinner will be at Seajays at 6:00 PM. They have a low country boil buffet for 17.95 per person. Golf carts (red buggies) are available at the airport on the first come first serve basis for a rental fee. If you will want a guarateed cart, you will need to call in advance and reserve this. Car rentals are available at BQK or SSI. The contact information is available on the Beech Club home page under the Jekyll Island Fly-in tab. I will be available to provide my vehicle Saturday only. I will be leaving to go out of town on Sunday. I would like to invite everyone to come see the island and enjoy a short get away. If you will be arriving earlier and need me to come over and meet you sooner, please feel free to contact (Trae) me at 912-258-5784. I am 15 minutes away.
Anyone needing fuel, AV Gas is alot cheaper at JES in Jesup, GA.
 
Randy, Tim, and Rick have been notified. Don't think Todd can make it.

I got on update from the avionics shop. My overhauled Altimeter has a 50% chance of arriving in the morning. If it does not then the plane is still grounded until it is put back in. Let's hoping shipping moves quickly.

Any others that want to drop in be sure to give Trae a call.
