Golden West Regional fly in

For all those on the West Coast, the EAA regional fly will be held in Marysville Ca, on June 12, 13 and 14th. We have been invited to have a Type club tent. This tent must be manned each day, all day. I would like to start a sign up and see if we have enough interest to make this happen. It would be neat to start a tradition out here like Sun-n-Fun back east.

Bob,

I am interested and I would like to at least fly in, but I have a 50th birthday for my Brother-in-Law. You can imagine if I'm not home for setup and cleanup how that would go over with the wife, but I can likely get away for a while. I am not sure that helps much, but I like the idea.

I guess I will wait and see the interest level. I would be willing to help more if I did not already have the big party at my house. Perhaps I can work part of a day on Friday.

Mike

Hey Bob,

I too am interested in helping but i have already commited to a golf tourny in Graeagle. Best i could do is Friday Morning and Sunday Afternoon.

Aris

Bob,

Thanks for taking the lead on this. I would like to see it work.

I will be in the middle of a sequence in New York over those dates. I was hoping I could trade off a day to get one day in up there, but it won't work as I am working the 11-15.

California members...fly over and give Bob a hand. I attended Sun and Fun and sat the type club tent twice. It was a great experience meeting new people and other BAC members.

Bob, I signed up for a shift on Friday. That should be late enough to get out after the fog, and get back in time to not get "fired" by the wife, who is funding my avgas at this time. I don't what to get fired. Sorry I cannot commit to more. One contingency, normally I'm rock solid on a commitment, but I will not have time to drive both ways, for previous stated reasons. If the weather is IFR that will kill my plans. If that is not something we can live with, I'm out.
Mike
ps: You are always welcome here Bob, seriously. Our parties are always open, if you show up, you’d have a great time, we always have fun parties.

Bob-
I am on the list to work the table Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. With Dan Jonas's permission, I'd like to throw in a kicker that BAC buys dinner for the booth workers on Saturday evening. Dan, can we use some of your regional stipend?

Come on folks, we need a few more time slots filled and we can start another fly-in tradition like Sun 'n' Fun! Sign up to work the booth (which mainly means standing around and talking about planes) and earn a dinner on BAC!!! What could be easier!?!?!

And this is an official BAC event so members who attend can earn Presidential Trophy points! Come join the fun!

All for one!
Chris L.

Mike, what ever you can do will be appreciated. I would not want you to risk your safety or your wife's wrath to man a booth. Thanks Bob

I'm looking to see if I can be there Sat and maybe Sun. I just found out that Chuck Yeager will be there on Sat.

Marshal and Joe- Let us know just as soon as you can. Bob has a deadline to make a commitment for BAC. We are required to have the table manned and we want to know we have the workers before we make the commitment. Thanks guys!

Anyone else in the Sacramento area that can volunteer?

All for one!

Hey, we need some volunteers! Who can work the table for a shift or two. Dinner's on BAC Saturday night of the event.

Here's the link to all the fun! http://www.goldenwestflyin.org/

Where oh where did the volunteers go,
Oh where, oh where can they be?

Our commitment deadline looms and we don't have enough people to man the table.

Who can help us out?

I'll give Bob a call in the morning, but I won't know for sure until Jun 3rd, I may need to be out of town the week of the 7th for two weeks, otherwise this would have been perfect. marshal

I was, (and still kind of am), hoping to be able to make it. We haven't made a trip to see our grandkids in Woodland for a long time, and this is soooo close. But with a flight to Boise this weekend, Beechday on the 6th, and Arlington a few weeks away..... plus I have to be able to find time to squeeze a little work in, I did not want to commit when it may fall apart.

But if there is any chance at all, I will certainly jump in as soon as I know. Sorry I could not be clearer. I would really love to help out!

You can have me any time Saturday, or all day Saturday.

Thanks, Joe. You are on the work list for Saturday from 2-4 PM.

Thom, will be great to see you. Hope you can make it!

We still need a few more California members to step up!

All for one!
Chris

Alright, I'm in for whatever Friday and Saturday shift needs to be filled. Hopefully no one asks any tough questions. I wanted a smiley face here, but it just occured to me that i don't know how. :) (generic smiley)
