Golden West Regional fly in

Great, Aris! I added you to the Saturday schedule from 2-4. There will be a BAC dinner after the show closes on Saturday evening. I hope all the volunteers stick around for a meal!

Thanks to the volunteers for stepping up. We almost have all the slots filled.

See ya there!

Guys we will be in Booth A25. Although I can't get free passes for everyone, see me before you pay. Booth workers get 1/2 price tickets. The fly-in office will be in our building so it won't take long to pick up the tickets/ wristbands. I will update everyone on the dinner as soon as I locate a reasonable restaurant.

Tom, if I have the gear on my plane prior to Arlington, I will try to attend.

Good deal, I was really hoping to make it to This one, but not enough time to go around. But I do hope to see you in Arlington!

Bob,

Thanks again for organizing this event. Truly sorry that my schedule keeps me away. Thanks to all who are attending and making it work.

Keep in mind a short article which we can include in the next BAC magazine. A few pictures of those who attend, our booth, etc. would be great.

Thanks.

Dan Jonas

I wanted to let everyone know that on the advise of a friend in Yuba City (disclaimer) I have secured reservations at Marcello's Italian Restaurant for Sat, June 13Th, at 7PM. Marcello's is located at 1235 Bridge St. in Yuba City. Yuba City is across the river from the airport.

Day One at Golden West:

The BAC table is neatly outfitted with magazines, information sheets about the benefits of being a BAC member, stickers, postcards, candies and other BAC items.

The crowd was pretty low today but we had the following members show:

Bob Lewis (event organizer)
Kurt Kruger
Alan Cebrian
Chris Linderman

Several people stopped by. Good conversation with a strong potential BAC member looking for information about 6 passenger Sierras.

Nice airshow this afternoon to cap off a good first day. The weather was fantastic and is predicted to remain so throughout the weekend.

The big crowd is due tomorrow. The BAC dinner is tomorrow night. We continue to beat the drum and spread the word.

Stop by if you get a chance. We'll be there 8 to 5 tomorrow and 8 to 3 Sunday!

All for one!
Chris L.

Day Two report from Yuba County Regional:

The turnout was better today but still not up to the usual. Great airshow and plenty to see on ground too. For one, there was a 1956 Taylor Aerocar on the ramp!

Many folks stopped by the table....mostly they took peppermints and magazines but we did talk to a few people interested in Baby Beeches. We may have a new member who can also provide some baby Beech parts.

Today we saw members:

Ron Beach
Aris Westbrook
Joe Ashment
Marshal Whatley

Plus to cap the day off, there was an excellent BAC dinner at Marcello's Italian Restaurante! Bob and Donna Lewis, Aris, Joe, Marshal and me!

Here's a shot of Joe Ashment (Wyofisher) and me at the booth this morning:

Great time for all!

Day Three report-
Sunday morning started out clear and breezy. Some WWII planes did a bit of a morning fly-by as the thin group of venders straggled in.

The show has been pretty darn good with great names like Chuck Yeager putting in an appearance, but the public has not turned out!

BAC may get one new member from the show and we had a wonderful time with all the members that came.

On to Arlington for me!
Chris L.

Well, the Golden West is now in the books. I packed up mid-day and headed out. The show was less attended than 08. With the economy is the state it's in, I am viewing it as a success. As for BAC, we picked up one member and a advertiser for our magazine. I had a good time meeting with other members and listening to what they have going on in their lives. I saw new/old aircraft, talked planes for three days, picked up a new tool and obtained a great meal for Donna and I. It doesn't get much better than that ! Thanks to all who came out and volunteered their time. I heard from a couple of members who had some things going on in their lives that prohibited their involvement. I thank them for the moral support. BAC lives in the Sacramento Valley-Bob

Guys,

Sorry, I didn't get on BAC until for the first time in weeks I believe. I kind of drop out of sight working with my Brother-in-Law's on his new home in Clearlake. I made it to the show for the General Chuck Yeager discussion Friday evening (Wings Credit). I did not get there until 6:30pm, and I left the next day at 8:15am.

I am putting the airshow on my calendar for next year; I think it looks like great fun. Again sorry about getting busy guys n' gals. I hope the weather is better next year, it is just not normal for California this time of year.

I suspect that 1956 Aerocar looked something like this. 1956 was a very good year, that was the same year I was made as well!

BTW - I drove as I could not risk not getting home on Saturday (see sky above Aerocar). I'm really sorry I missed everyone.

Sorry we missed it. We had hoped to maybe make it but life intervened and the moving schedule is moving up so we spent all weekend down here in San Diego looking for our next long term housing option.

Candy heads back tomorrow but I should be able to make the some CA fly-ins as SuperMouse has sucessfully made it to Montgomery. Although a "hinky" AI is putting a crimp in my IFR options and we're in June gloom so getting out VFR is day to day.

I'd like to make Arlington and will be around but I'm not sure we've got gas budget for the round trip with everything else that has to happen in the next sixty days.
