We are planning a tour of the GE Jet Engine Testing Facility at Peebles, Ohio on July 6th. Fly in to Highland Co. Airport (KHOC) located in Hillsboro, OH by 11:30am EDT. We will have lunch at 12:00 noon either at the airport or a local restaurant. We will then drive to Peebles. Dan Kirby is arranging transportation. We will take the tour at GE at 2:00pm EDT. The tour will last about two hours. To do this we need the names of those who will definitely attend. This is first come, first served because the tour size is limited to 15-20 people. Please respond by no later than June 25th. We need this information so they can complete the background security check, and make badges for everyone. Regretfully, it is limited to US citizens. We can't plan further (food, etc.) until we have a definite number of attendees.

Hey guys, this is a pretty neat tour! I attended the last one and really enjoyed it. Not sure if I can make this one, though.

This facility is where they do engine certification testing - like shooting chickens and spraying water into the engine for certification. They also test run all production engines on stands. As I recall, their biggest engine will tip over a pickup truck sitting in front of the engine!!!
