Gaston's Airport Saturday

I have this on my list of things to do this fall. Will try and be there early sat for lunch, Have a church function in the evening so if i make it wont stay long.

I was at Gaston's a few weeks ago for Sunday brunch. The brunch was good and the gift shop for the resort was a magnet for my wife... The airfield is fun.

Watch out for "THE BUMP."

Seems like I tend to get there just when I'm almost, but not quite, going fast enough to rotate. You kind of get launched prematurely when you're going not quite fast enough to fly.

Sorry Ann & I won't be able to make it this year. Saturday will be one week before one of our daughters is getting married, so we'll be busy with preparations. Hope the weather cooperates and everyone's takeoff roll is "bump" free!

That's right, you got to stay and we had to leave. Back in May (I think it was), they were really busy too. The LLT (ladies love taildraggers) group brought out a lot of people.

How many are going to make it. I am planning on being there along with a friend from work who is thinking about getting his PPL. He has never been in a small plane before, should be fun.

I'll be there. I'm not sure about landing on the grass. I may go to Baxter County (KBPK) and take the free shuttle over.

Arrived at KBPK at 1528Z. They let me use the courtesy car. I'm at Gaston's. The only Beech on the field is a V-tail.
