Fly-in/Events poll

As VFR pilots, getting anywhere and back on a weekend is last minute and unpredictable. We would likely look at something that is available over the Christmas break or in the summer during vacation times. And we have to deal with customs and homeland security issues coming from Canada I guess.

Even though I'm instrument rated and current, I'm reluctant to fly though the stuff. I do have actual time, more than some instructors, but I'm still reluctant. This is supposed to be for FUN and it is NOT fun to fly through the clag for extensive periods.

As far as getting back in an out in a weekend, it is possible, even with iffy weather, but that will limit the radius that you can fly; 300-500 miles would be about it for me.

Just to keep this thread on the agenda.....time is running out to let me know your interest for the Magnolia Blossom festival (see post above). As of now, I have had only 1 plane (2 people) commit to this fly-in. The lead time is needed because Hotels/motels are sold out very early in the year.

If interested, let me know by 12/31/06.
