Current Rellihan Circumstances

Just need to let everyone know that I'll have only sporadic contact capability for an uncertain length of time. We just checked into a hotel down in Jacksonville, Fl (at 0400). My Mom is in the hospital, and isn't faring very well. Not completely unexpected (she had cancer surgery a year ago, and has been a chain smoker her entire life); and she is closing in on her 81st birthday. So I'm not sure what my circumstances will be for a while. I certainly won't be able to ship parts for a while, beyond the ones I managed to get out today.

Our prayers and best wishes are with you also. Please keep us posted, and if you need anything just call, we'll do what we can. Will keep an eye on the place for you while you're gone, like always.

Do not worry about us at this time of need. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.

Mike,

I almost never enter a posting on this site. I read most postings and as an A&P / IA, I truely respect your efforts, views and contributions to this org. At this time know that many of the silent majority in this org., that you have blessed, now have you in their prayers. May God bless you, give you and your family strength.

My very sincere thanks to you all. Mom remains in intensive care, and was a bit more comfortable when we left late last night. She is only quasi-conscious at times, and was in a lot of pain most of yesterday. Long story, but they could not do much about it; her blood pressure was at 48/20 at one point. We are headed back there shortly.

It is possible that she will rally for a while, but it is highly improbable that she will see another Thanksgiving or Christmas. Her current situation is only incidentally related to her lung (and other) cancer, but is no less deadly. She is very religious, and would not sign a no-resuscitation order; two of my younger (local) siblings have been saddled with the Power Of Attorney (I am the oldest of seven). The combined effect is that she may well wind up 'on the machine' for a long time, with no hope of recovery.

That's a mighty sad thing to see coming, when she keeps saying that she just wants to get back home, and die there as my Father did in 2000. The reality is that she will probably never get strong enough to leave the hospital, nor to treat the cancer in any way (so she can get through the holidays one last time, as she had wished).

No telling right now when we'll get back to SC (or how long we'll be there when we do get home). If we get home briefly, I'll do my best to get a few things shipped out before we have to leave again. I also have a few more 'findings' to put up in the Classifieds, but they'll have to wait for a while.

Mike-

Our thoughts are with you and as far as shipping things out and BAC issues, let them sit. You and your family have more pressing concerns.

All the best,
Chris and LeeAnne

Mike,

Our thoughts are with you and your family. Holly & I may be going down to West Palm next weekend. SGJ is our stop along the way. If you need us to bring anything to you from up here, let us know. Is is no trouble to stop by 34A on the way out.
