Flight Levels
Moonlite Barbecue that is. This Saturday, July 12 is the Owensboro, KY fly-in (KOWB). We'll plan to meet between 11:30 and noon (Central time zone) at Mid America Jet FBO, then proceed to the buffet line. Free lunch for all BAC members and all those arriving in the same plane. Any questions, please call me at 859-707-6039. Brad Mitchell

Brad - Deb and I are planning to be there, then stop on the way back at 27K to pick up the grandson and bring him home for a week. Looking forward to it.

I saw something on the web over the weekend that listed the Moonlight BBQ as one of the top 10 BBQ places in the US.

Said mutton is a specialty.

Nuttin' better than their mutton....except the apples and corn and green beans and baked beans and mashed potatoes and cornbread......mmmmmhhhhhh!!!!

Beef, pork and mutton barbecue all await! After devouring all you possibly can, they do sell their barbecue in half pound and one pound containers. Perfect for sandwiches back home on Sunday! See everyone at KOWB on Saturday around noon.

moonlight BBQ

Brad Mitchell, you are an amazing guy. Up here in Canada the sun is usually shining midday. But you are able to have a moonlight BBQ at noon.

Is that just a Kentucky thing or with enough bourbon it can be duplicated here?

Brad,

Sonya, Elizabeth and I are planning on making the trip. Any deals on fuel up there?

Mid America won't cut us a deal on fuel. They know people are coming in for Moonlite. They do charge a facility fee of $10 or 10 gallons. We'll see what works out best once we get there.

Per Airnav.com Mid America is a buck more per gallon then Modern? Any chance of meeting at the other FBO for cheeper gas and pick up?

Thanks
Craig T

The weather finally held long enough to get in a successful fly-in! 4 planes and 8 people made it to Owensboro to enjoy the barbecue and fixins.

We had 1 Duchess, 1 Musketeer & 2 Sundowners. Those attending were Craig & Sandy Tankersley, Shelby, Sonya & Elizabeth Smith, Gary & Debbie Boyce and Brad Mitchell.

No one left hungry!
