Beech Aero Club International Fly in (Virtual Online ) Wednesday 5/13 0000 Zulu

It was certainly a lot of fun and I hope we do it again. I’m shopping for a better video conferencing setup!

Looks like he did pretty good for the situation. The terrain looks like it doesn't have a lot of options. Putting it between those signs must have been pretty exciting!

How did you get the small frames of the members on line? I only had one full screen frame that switched with each user. Couldn't figure out what you were talking about being on top of or beside for a few minutes.

Thanks JP for doing this virtual fly-in.

Screen settings for group meetings

Harvey,
This is in the settings at your end. It will vary depending on what type of device you are using. See the two pix below from others.

On my iPad, I was only able to see a maximum of six, but a name appears for who is speaking, regardless of the faces displayed. Phones are probably limited to much less.

There are two video options as well. Everyone will give you multiple boxes with different folks in each. "Talking" will only show the person talking in full screen. The problem with that one is if someone makes a noise, it will jump to them and then back to the person talking. Very annoying.

Can't you just mute yourself until you have something to say?

BTW, I’ve tried to purchase a decent webcam add on to my system and there are non to be had for about 2 months! Unless I’m willing to pay > $700 for the higher grade business stuff, which I’m not.

You sure can Rap, but most don't until the feedback gets so bad somebody complains.....lol. Normally it's Tom C. doing all the complaining....lol.
In the "everybody" selection a green box highlights around the video of the person talking. In the "Talking" selection it bounces back and forth between the "hot mic" at that particular moment and is very annoying.

mute the mike

I got fairly religious about muting the mike after one memorable session on a company computer yak fest - well it was considered very high level and from the "privacy" of my pickup in the middle of the Tundra, I sighed, (quietly I thought), and got yelled at.

One's name shows up as to who generated the interruption; apparently my expression, while perhaps shared by many, was not well received by the higher ups.

This new world can be fraught with danger.

Aw, and I went and re-learned that Zulu time correction thing again. Let me see, Tuesday May 12 at 8 EDT is 2000 so Zulu is Wednesday May 13 0000 Zulu. I see a trend developing.
