Beat The Season Long Island Fly In

Gordan,
You and I missed getting together for the Boston Marathon Fly-in.
Maybe next Saturday I'll see you on Long Island.
Bob Kittine may have more specific details for us (I hope so).
Kittine is not fussy about who joins us. Of course, BAC has always welcomed all guests.
Just be prepared to be in the company of V-Tail guys who still stayed even after they think they outgrew BAC but didn't.
Ya, we love them too and would feel bad without them.
Once in a while I actually listen to them... Dan, Trumpet, Mike...
Not always.
Tom

Well, with an invite as gracious as that, who could possibly refuse?

Fly Ins in the northeast are always open to others. We have had plenty of Cessnas and other aircraft attend. Getting aviation enthusiasts together is the overall game plan and Non Mouse owners get to see what they are missing.

Any PIREPs on flying into Gabreski would be appreciated.

Are there fees when stopping in for the on field restaurant? If so, is it worth buying gas to waive fees?

My pirep on FOK: class D, ex military, great and pro tower staff. If you can’t grease it there at 9000 ft x 150 wide, consider fly fishing instead. (jK) Call tower before you enter the delta with the wx, or get flight following from Sky Acres and get the full pro handoff. No fee…..yet. Modern aviation just built a gargantuan FBO to service the Hampton crowd getting squeezed at HTO so that’ll change soon. Don’t buy gas there. If you need , hop to KHWV, they have a self serve at 6.49, which is the cheapest around.

Roger that. We will bring enough gas to get us back to Sky Acres, which should not be a stretch.

I did not see a venue listed, are we meeting at Cafe Volo?

if you go to the airports web site and check under fees, it shows that there is no fee for touch and goes if your under 12,500 pounds ??? But it does show that there is a landing fee for single engine , non-commercial aircraft of $5.00. That being said, like Dan D. I go there a lot and have yet to ever be charged a landing fee.

Was nice to see lots of friends at Gabreski yesterday. Tom, sorry you couldn’t make it. I am trying to set up another No Landing Fee get together at Montauk Airport.

I brought over one of our members that has never owned an airplane so he could see some Musketeers up close and personal and so he and his wife could meet some of the gang. He is soon to love to New Jersey and will base what ever he buys at Blairstown where a great Mouse mechanic (Not on Uncle Raps level but good) has a shop.

Thank you to all who made it to the event at FOK

Skies were clear and winds were at least tolerable for good time flying and meeting up with friends.
