BBQ at KMCW (Mason City, Iowa) - July 18th supper, then on to OSH the next morning

Around The Moon
An official BAC gathering will be held on July 18th, Thursday, at KMCW. This is a monthly event held at that airport (every third Thursday), and a great way to meet. The sponsors ask that you provide the meat that you want for the grill, and possibly bring a side dish. Last year there was enough food to cover over two ping pong tables. An amazing and fun time. Be prepared to start visiting and eating at the airport about 5 pm Thursday. Several local pilots open their hangars for the event.

I will be on-site in Mason City, Iowa with a rental car to provide any transportation needed. I plan to arrive on July 17th, Wednesday. At this time we have 3 BAC planes attending (arriving Thursday or before) and staying overnight at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, which is close to the airport. Because - - - at sunrise Friday morning we are flying into Airventure (OSH) to do several days of aircraft camping. Join in !!IMG_0684a.jpg

Trumpet
Make that 4 BAC airplanes at MCW! We have hotel reservations, and will be arriving Thursday afternoon to join the fun.
See you all soon.

John

The Third Thursday fly in at Mason City has been ongoing for about 13 or so years, all year long, any weather. Host Doug R and family make this the most welcoming event to just thrill in all types of aviation. When just before OSH the event can have some very special guests like Doc and That's All Brother. More info on their FB group https://www.facebook.com/burgerburn.IMG_0294c.JPGIMG_3843.JPGIMG_3837.JPG

Now at Mason City - - trumpet & Greg & Michael. I picked up the rental (black mini van) yesterday and we have all arrived.

Next - - John F arrives about 4 pm today. And .... hoping some of you will decide to join us for tonight's wonderful BBQ. Just call !!

BAC members John Foster (KBDN), Nelson Amen (8T8), Michael Dunlevie (KEGE), and Greg Johnson (KJZP) all had a great time at the KMCW fly-in. BONUS - - Nelson and Michael and Greg arrived a day early and joined the Howard group for a spaghetti supper and hangar tour. The equipment (aka - toys) on the field and in the hangars was amazing. Also, we introduced a guest to our wonderful BAC family. And the minivan was able to handle all of our "stuff".

Enjoy the photos .... join us next year ! I will schedule this fly-in again!

Once again Mason City was a blast, the toys in the hangars, the very nice Howard group folks, the hangar tour. If you have 4 planes on a carousel in the hangar with 4 studio's above, and or you can just pull out your P-51 to go for a flight, well life's pretty great.

But then we did a four ship flight to OSH...

What a great way to break up a long cross country. Well done, and thank-you for being great ambassadors for the Beech Aero Club!
