Bahamas November 2009

I have had a few requests to look at alternate dates for this year's Bahamas Fly-in. Now up for consideration is December 27- Jan 2.
Many seem to have this week off already and it looks like we might be able to work a deal in Eleuthera with some side trips.
Anybody that is interested, chime in and let us know if this works as well as or better than November.

That would be an interesting trip. Cool time of the year and typically good weather along the sun belt. I dunno if my wife would be up for a trip of that duration, but I would. I'll advise later.

Bumping this up front again. The fall will be upon us soon. We still have options for November and December trips. Please let me or Doug know if you want to get in on the planning or the trip. We will still plan on meeting up in Florida for paperwork etc. before leaving the U.S.

OK all I have some life vests for this trip if anyone is interested. Just got my radio liscense. It only took a week online. Ready to go when you are Guy's

I am leaning toward the December 27 to January 2 dates. But I have some flexibility and am willing to set up a November week if that is better for everyone.

what radio lic you talking about?? I have an old one i got in 1965?, i believe, when i got my 1st medical and solo'd

To fly international you need an FCC Aircraft radio license. I started the form yesterday on the FCC site, but when i saw that it's $110.00, I passed.

The pilot needs a limited radiotelephone operators lic. The aircraft needs a station lic.
Both used to be routine for GA but not needed in US anyymore. In theory Customs could ask to see them when crossing borders.

I just sent an email out to those that expressed an interest in this trip and also sent me an email address. If you are interested in keeping up with the planning please send me your email address to [email protected]
We will post occasional updates here but I don't think we need to post all the small planning decisions here.
Think about it! What a great way to start off the new year! Bahamas Style! C'Mon down MON!
