This post is to communicate arrival information for BACFest. If you fly your mouse to KDBQ ask the tower for taxi to the Jet Center (they will assume that you are going there anyway). The Jet Center will park you with the with our group. We have a 12 passenger van rented to transport attendees from the airport to the hotel. The van rental starts at 4:00PM on Wednesday, anytime after that it will be available. If you arrive on a commercial flight the van will be there when you arrive. If you know your flight number, reply to this post, so we know which flight you are on. A round trip from the airport to the hotels and back is about 30 minutes, so that should be the longest wait.

The number to call for the van is 641-414-7920.

The Grand Harbor and the Hilton both have vans that will also pick you up from the airport, but our van will probably be the quickest.
I don't have a smart phone, so I won't be able to watch flight aware in the van, but when I get a break I will check the computer in the Jet Center, so If you want to post your ETA we will be watching.

For those of you who are coming Wednesday, would the group like to get together for dinner around 6:30PM? I believe there will be about 30 of us so let me know so I can make a reservation.
 
Don't know if we can get there by then. We may have low ceilings until after lunch. It will be a 3 1/2 hour flight. If we can make it then we will come.
 
I'll try to make that but the soonest I'll make DBQ is about 5:30, and that is quite optimistic. East coast has rain tonight and Wednesday. The good news is the cold front. The bad news is the cold front. So far planning KASW to KDBQ.

ARRIVED DBQ SAFE AND SOUND - 11:00 AM. MET BY JOHN AND HIS CAMERA.

Our "party van" should arrive at the airport about 4:00 pm today. Jet Center personnel very friendly. Word on the street ... they may move our parking area sometime later. For now, it's the Jet Center (3 hangars south of tower) .... look for the Musketeers! All for one, one for all .....

NOW AT THE GRAND - - ROOM 534. For a good time .... call trumpet!

I have made a reservation at the Shot Tower Inn for tonight at 6:30PM. We can use the van to shuttle people back and forth. Plan on meeting in the hotel lobby at 6:15PM for those who can make it!
 
Number three at KDBQ at about 13:55. Leisurely trip up the Mississippi from KCPS. There were 6 planes on the ramp when we left on the shuttle for the hotel. They had started prop balancing on John's plane. So look for his report later.

Made it. 3+30 from KAAO to KDBQ. 15-18 kts on the spinner the whole way. I'm sure I'll experience more headwinds on the way back.
