We will be having our second BAC type club event at AirVenture this year. BAC member Larry Last has just moved back to Oshkosh and purchased a home that is adjacent to the Oshkosh Airport, only a few hundred yards from the airshow runway and has offered to host a picnic for us this year! Read on for details...

We can enjoy the airshow from his backyard, seated with a cool one in hand! This is NOT on Airventure grounds, so you don’t have to pay admission to Airventure to attend! We will provide shuttle service (in the BACmobile?) from AirVenture Gate E01 to Larry's house and back. I'll post a map in the photo gallery.

The catered picnic will be on Tuesday July 29th, starting at 2:00PM. The menu will include Burgers, Brats, Chicken, Beer and Soft Drinks. To register, send me a deposit by check in the amount of $10 for each attendee before July 15th. Here's the cool part -- when you arrive at the picnic, you get your check back! This is an effort on our part to get a good count of the attendees. If you don't show up, your check will be cashed to pay for the food and drink we bought for you. If you don't get registered by the 15th, we'd still love to have you attend, but it will cost you $10 per person. Remember, spouses are encouraged to attend.

Don't forget, you have to sign up by July 15th for the EAA BAC Picnic on the Flightline if you want to eat and drink for free! Send me a check made our to Beech Aero Club for $10 for each attendee by July 15th and you'll get your check back when you show up at the picnic. It's our way of being able to commit a head count to the caterers without wasting BAC funds if you don't make it. If you can't sign up by the 15th, we'd still love to have you, but it'll cost you 10$ per person.

Only a few more weeks to pre-register for the picnic!!!

We are listed on the EAA AirVenture website. Go to AirVenture.org and click on Attractions, then click Other Attactions, and finally click on Type Club Events, and there we are!

We need your registration by July 15th if possible in order to tell the caterer how much food we need.

Less than two weeks to pre-register for the BAC picnic! So far we've got 15 members and guests paid up. You are coming from Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee, Ohio, Alberta Canada, and New Zealand! Definitely an international event!

One week left to register for the picnic!

I have uploaded a map that shows the pick-up gate as well as Larry's location and address. We want to pick up as many of you as possible between 1:30 and 2:00 at gate E01.

To download the map: from the BAC home page under General, click on Photo gallery, then click East Central Fly-ins, and finally BAC Picnic on the Flightline. There you will find two shots of the airport from Larry's back yard and the map.

Call and let us know when you will be at the gate and we will pick you up. We'll have a big BAC logo on the shuttle (BACmobile) so you can spot us. We will also drop you off at the gate or parking lot after the picnic. We might even be able to make nearby hotel runs.
 
I would love to attend. I will have my Dad, 2 friends, my son and nephew with me. All Beech nuts! Are my extra guests ok?

A house, next to Oshkosh, where you can sit in the backyard and watch the shows for free and drink Beer? I believe that is refered to as heaven.
 
I'm afraid not. I just returned from a trip to Ill, tulsa, Arkansas via my friends mooney and United. Even though I painted the house and out buildings, my pass has expired ha ha. But, I should be there next year. Hopefully I'll have wheel pants on the Musketeer by then. Thanks for asking, I really enjoyed meeting your group of BAC guys and Gals. The hospitality was five stars. The BAC dinner you put on was one of the highlights of the adventure. Perhaps I can return the favor at BAC 08.
 
Regional Banners

We'd love to have you bring the regional banner for you region. We have plenty of room to display them in Larry's back yard where they will be in plain view of anyone at AirVenture looking across the airshow runway. AirVenture is on the West side of the runway and we are on the East. Pretty good publicity for us! If you can't bring it with you but want it displayed, send it to me at the following address:

Hi Bob,

I know you listed the states that will be represented by BAC members at EAA for the picnic. Any chance you can list who is actually making the trip? Mark and I are planning on it. I'll make sure we get a check in the mail to you before the deadline. Can't wait to see everybody again. This will be our first trip over for the big event!

I'll post the names list hopefully tomorrow. So far we have 20 paid attendees and about ten in the process of registering.

Do you have accommodations or are you camping with your airplane? Let me know if I can help.
