We will meet in front of the FAA building (it has to be good for something) at 12:00 noon and have lunch together.
At the end of lunch, I will raffle off a One years BAC membership for every 5 members present. You have to be present

Does BAC have a special get together at Fun n' Sun in April? I am planning in make the trip from Michigan this year.

Yes. We will have a central location and time each day for members to "meet and greet" on the grounds of Sun n Fun. We usually have a club dinner one evening for BAC Members (most likely on Thursday, due to the crowd on Friday and Saturday). There will be more posted on a later date as to what, times and locations. We look forward to your visiting the South East.

I had not heard of this event until now, but I will certainly try and make it. I just re-read your original post, lunch only at noon may absolutely be doable as I would only have a couple of hours available on a Saturday.
 
Man - with a cool name like that - we need to print up a banner just for this event !!! We need to hit those - email/snail mail - lists to get the word out to the 60% of the members that don't visit the forums... I hope this is a great success...

OK Folks, I need to clear things up. A person ask in this thread, about what happens in April at the Sun n Fun Expo held annually. I answered him. So, it got confusing in talking about the one day event "When Pigs Fly" that is to be held on Nov. 16, 2013 sponsored by Sun n Fun and held from 10 AM until 5 PM at KLAL (Lakeland-Linder Airport). I hope that clears any misunderstanding.

I am definitely in now. I guess you had me at BBQ. Scott, tee shirts are available through the Sun N Fun website. Pilot Mall will be open down there for the day. Looks free to fly in, although you have to pay parking if you drive in (what fun would that be?).
 
I have not seen much interest in "When Pigs Fly" BAC fly-in at Sun n Fun area of KLAL (Lakeland, FL)

This is as central of a location in Florida that offers this nice of event. I would like to see several members attend as this has the potential to become a longer event next year and we would welcome your suggestions. We are already working on the 2014 plans.

Your support would be appreciated at either/both the remaining Florida fly-ins this year.

Hi Dave,

I'm still convinced we are just not getting the information into the hands of members who don't frequent the site...

While there is not enough time for this event - I'm going to try and use snail mail and an actual postcard for some Northeast events in the spring... A catchy name - which you already have - matched with some catchy graphics advertising the event may go a long way to getting some fresh faces participating at events...

Labored much of the day yesterday washing the rat so that it shines for the pigs. I will definitely be there at the FAA building at noon and I am taking a cooler to bring back as much BBQ as I can stuff in the cargo area. Weather mid-week looks rainy, but will or should be fine by Saturday.
 
Great, thanks Eddy, James, and Scott. I have sent two emails to my region and to former members who have not renewed in two years. Scott, that is not MY pig!!!! However, it is a great event to "Piggy-back" a BAC fly-in on.

I am considering a 3 day or more event in conjunction with the Sun n Fun "When Pigs Fly" next year. It is a great area, with plenty for the whole family.

Dave, that sounds like a great plan for next year. For those that come from a longer distance, if it's a long weekend, that makes for a better trip. Allows for more time to drink, eat and drink with fellow BACers! 8-)
