Anyone interested in a 2nd fly-in at St. Augustine, FL in early December???

Level Cruise
I sent a letter to members in the S E Region to gauge the interest in a Fly-in, Christmas party combination the weekend of December 7th. I want to do Friday nite Christmas party combined with SAAPA (that is St. Augustine Airport Pilots' Association) as we did last year. Then a private meal on Saturday evening. It is one of the 5 busiest weekends in St. Augustine, so I really need to have some indications of those that would be interested in attending. That is a lot of work, if only a fairly low number are interested. Also, motel reservations will need to be completed early. I will have more information soon.

We enjoyed hosting it last year, and hope to grow it now and in the future.

Please respond if you think you would be interested.

Thanks,

Dave

I am planning to go whether there is a fly-in or not. Hoping to have the funds to make the reservations in the next week.

Margie and I will be in St. Augustine for a week beginning December 14th.
If this makes me a week late I will clean-up after you guys.

The 2012 fly-in was well organized and Dave had plenty for us to do.
St. Augustine goes all out with Christmas decorations and Dave got us into a pilot's Christmas party and a great seminar.

I hope that interest in a St. Augustine Fly-in picks up. We would like to grow from last year. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.
Thanks,

I am planning a Bahamas trip late December. If I can make this a stop on the way it will work out well for me. But I need to do it close to Christmas week.

All right all my fellow Southeast Region members. It's time to let Dave know that you are alive and kicking. We had a great time last year, and I'm looking forward to another trip to St Augustine. This is a great opportunity to see and enjoy a great place and get to know folks as something other than an email address. Let's get Dave busy!!!!

And any of you folks that aren't in the SE, you know you're welcome to visit!

I am definitely flying up (weather permitting) and staying Friday, Saturday and leaving Sunday. My wife and daughters will probably drive up, although one or more daughters may fly. Tom, do you need a ride when you are in Florida?

Jim,
Tom must not be awake yet, because he would have jumped on that one. He has me on the list for two rides this year. He carried one over from last year. If it gets any better he will have to start staying two weeks.
Thanks for the update.

I will take an IOU for an airplane ride from anyone who offers. Jim Olsen is on the list. I survived my last airplane ride with him.
We have a rented car if that is the kind of ride you are offering.
Dave Singleton should fill his Sundowner's tanks as he is not getting off easy.
Sorry too. We arrive for a week in St. Augustine on December 14. No changing that now.
Paul Werbin, maybe we can meet Dec 14 - 21 in Florida. Singleton can buy us lunch.

I was at St. Augustine 2 weeks ago and there must have been something EAA going on, with planes taking off in formation and such. Had to fly back that afternoon. I just want to go back to Scarlett O'Hara's and have something mixed in with my coke, and not just ice.

Jim, the next time land and check out the fly-by cafe. Tom, you have a free pass anytime, however I reserve the right to "bump" you should I get a better offer. Fast Fred, good news. Thanks to JP, I have been in touch with the SE Director of the AYA/Grumman Owners Association. It happens that his Area Coordinator for North Florida AYA, is a person I have known for several years. We are meeting tomorrow night to see if we can merge our plans. We both think it will work out well. I will report our progress this week.

Either way, we will have a Fly-in at KSGJ on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (December 6, 7, & 8, 2013). We hope you are planning on attending

Dave,

Been to the cafe and loved it. I assume that for the flyin, we are parking there at the FBO? That is where I will be going unless and until I hear otherwise. Weather permitting, I will probably work most of the day Friday, fly up later afternoon, and be there through Sunday. We are borrowing a house that is located beach side just over the north bridge and looking forward to a nice weekend. The flyin will just be icing on the cake for me.

The FBO is where we will be parking. I will have more details soon. Glad you will be able to make it this year.
